This: https://www.nzherald.co.nz/business/news/article.cfm?c_id=3&objectid=12068846 NZ Herald report caught my eye and while listening to the discussion there was the following:

Liam (2:50) : [Bitcoin] now worth over 13000 USD

Juha (3:14): It's worth 13000 then drops to 5000.

Liam (3:30): "That's what it costs in Zimbabwe"

7000 USD costs 2,533,300.00ZWD

https://www.xe.com/currencyconverter/convert/?Amount=7000&From=USD&To=ZWD

Great comeback there....

I thought that Zimbabwe had adopted the US$. Due to the hyper inflation of their own dollar making it practically useless. Heard that they were printing trillion dollar banknotes at one point.

Still has more intrinsic value than a bitcoin of course.  The paper has some value, and it does have a unique number printed on it.

Imagine the situation when, at some point many years hence, Zimbabwe is well run and very rich. It's currency is sought after and at least as valuable as the USD. And someone pulls out a shoebox of trillion dollar notes from under the bed...!
