And all I have to do is tick up $3600 more of credit card debt. I’m so confused by this offer lmao, are these thought up by real people or automated?

LOL

Surely it's a robot.
If it was me I would look at your past spending habits and automate a target for you to get the reward credit.

Mind you personally $20 would make me go out of my why to spend $3600.
But I might use the GEM card over another if I could easily get to the target...

Lol, I get $1.00 for every $150, that works out at $20 at $3000
B

NZ advantage. There’s also a higher fee one that gives $1.00 for every $100 from memory..

Edit: BNZ $40 annual fee so -$20, 6000 spend before start gaining.
What is GEM’s fees?

No, spend $0 and save $3600. That's a much better deal!

Wonder why I have to spend 3,600 while another person has to spend 500. Hmmm!

To be fair, I don’t think anyone actually uses Gem Visa at that interest rate, I think that’s the cash withdrawal rate/they’d have to be in dire straits or just know they’re able to pay it back in the near future. I’ve only used it for 60 months interest free purchases myself.

Is Gem Visa the one that retailers try to push onto people? I remember wanting to buy an expensive phone from Noel Lemming several years ago and they wanted to sign me up for it. I said I don't need another credit card and the salesperson said I could get the card and just not use it. I'm pretty sure they were receiving commission on each card they got customers to sign up for.

I think some retailers are using it to replace hire purchase, so they’re having Gem manage the risk for them.
