Some videos of Snapper's CEO showing new upgrades in the pipes for Wellington's RFID payment card, used mainly on buses, getting it closer to the perfect cashless swipe card?

Looking at the new USB device and new gen reader:

I only use it for the bus, and for that it's great. I've got the USB reader as well, works fine for topping up from home.

Don't like it, appreciate the discount but the reload fees, the inability to load on anything other than the fixed amounts is plain frustrating (can't pay the 25c reload fee seperately in order to get a square amount on the card.) and the performance of the RFID cards seems to be utterly horrible compared to all the other RFID cards I have.

Website is stupidly complex requireing activeX, internet explorer, and there was no standalone application provided to just simply give a running total with the original "feeder"

in saying all that, workmate loves it, though my "feeder" is reguarly used by the people at work to keep tabs on the balances and had made usage of them a lot easier.

Maybe it's just me but the entire system gives the impression of being "cheap", the poor card reader performance, the tiny screened little drivers console arrangement that looks "off the shelf jiffy-box"

I also think the CEO is brave for sticking with it and being attentive to the niggles with it.

Will be interesting to watch the videos when i'm off dial-up.

Thanks for the screen grabs. yes the "feeder" comes in a metal tin, it's made by "NexGTelecom" and is nothing more then a standard RFID reader, I intended to use it with other things but it's been attached to a pc at work for the staff to swipe the cards over before heading home/to lunch.

I love the "breaking open a snapper" I have cut a number of RFID cards apart before and simcards and will eventually upload scans of them.

Have been using the USB device since Snapper was launched and have it attached to my cell ona dinky little string.  I like it though it would be nice if it had an OLED of some kind that gave youa  balance.  Very eacy to top up.  Plug it in to the USB and top it up.  Get full txn history etc.  I only use mine for buying coffee and food as my bus company has its own smartcard system.

Hmm, the first two videos have been "removed by the user"

I will say, I could shot and edit better video on my mobile phone, watching any of those users videos is utterly nauseating.
