A no. of banks now have them on their cards. 

1.  Because it is with Mastercard, would other cards have similar that works on it as well?  Like VISA, AMEX etc ..

2.  What about a standard eftpos card?   This would make more sense for more regular and smaller purchases.

3.  Because currently Mastercard can only access it.  That means the shop would pay a small fee right?

There is both PayPass (Mastercard) and PayWave (Visa). From what I can gather they are essentially the same system/protocol under a different brand name. Someone might be able to confirm or deny that?

The PayPass/PayWave terminals are combined to accept either/or.
