Given the amount of time and money money I've spent on various half-assed cleaning solutions when I should have instead just bought bottle cleaning alkali salts and a bottle of Star San (given the tiny amounts you use diluted, it will probably outlive me), I wish I'd started doing things properly from the get-go.

In the past had a few dud brews which were likely due lack of proper cleaning procedure.

Ive got it down now to a diluted solution of Countdown/Frend non-deodorized, water rinse, then a final sanitize with TradeMe/StellarSan.

Im convinced this practice also improves the flavour slightly too, as any miniscule contaminations are dealt with.
