Mikek: Anyone else who says other wise is just a fanboy which there are a few. Love the UI they have and everything else they offer but Vetta is just not up to it compared with the likes of Vocus or Vodafone for actual throughput.

I respectfully disagree with this statement and no, I'm not a fanboy here either even though some times I may appear to be - I just like what a very small team have pulled off and it shows with the amount of growth they've seen causing these issues which is both a blessing and a curse for a small ISP which we've seen multiple times with many now successful providers. Personally with me I've seen improvement vs 2degrees who I was on before. Yes, right now it is bad, I'm not going to lie, but as a beta tester I know Vetta are are indeed up to it and there are some pretty awesome things coming.

You're basically comparing a very small player to the largest providers which IMHO isn't really a fair comparison to begin with but being small means they're more agile to make changes to improve user experience. This is what I've personally found with other smaller players. But building an entire new network is not an easy task and even migrations to another network is difficult too from what we've seen with 2degrees / MyRepublic.

Mikek:

I would agree with you on this totally, They should limit the sign up process accept less customers.Get on top of things first.  They might be open about the issues they have which is fine. But at the end of the day they have too many issues. I for one was with Quic months ago tested them out for 2 weeks found them extremely average for speed, Left within two weeks, I liked every other aspect of them but overall speed was way below the major players not even close. Anyone else who says other wise is just a fanboy which there are a few. Love the UI they have and everything else they offer but Vetta is just not up to it compared with the likes of Vocus or Vodafone for actual throughput.

I would say if you don't really care about speed that much and can sit tight for a year or so while they improve go for them. Otherwise i would look elsewhere.

Just out of interest - did you use the same router with Quic as with your prior ISP?

Yes, all same router for last 6years until recently,

Tried and proven for both IPoE & PPPoE if that's what you are thinking, totally maxed out gigabit connection on spark and Vodafone with torrents and line tests,  so much so it trigged ddos protection back in the day for bigpipe doing torrents, It would just sit at 112MB/s constantly on both lines.

I hate to say it Murfy but you are a fan boy of them mate :D,

If you copy my whole text you will see I like the things they are doing and stand for but they still don't stack up, Nor do they stack up against the smaller players like Devoli or Feenix

you would get better performance from both of them.

I can understand the sentiment that Quic is not yet a mature service provider.  I have documented my experiences in another thread but it appears I am not the only one to be a short-term Quic customer.  I too will look to return to Quic, but only after I am assured that I bring a mature and proven router performer with me to an innovative provider with a stable network.

Not a public statement from Quic, but a big maintenance window coming up.

As someone with access to the new network, I can see a big difference between the old and new networks. So I'm very excited to see the switchover.

I move over on 6 December, hopefully they'll get 1 or 2 more maintenance windows in before then to complete the job :)
