quic: Hi all,

There's a lot to digest in this thread, so I'll do my best to go through as much as possible.

To sum up this post, that is why I support Quic as my ISP. They are very upfront, and we all know things sometimes wobble and go down.

If the kids can't watch Netflix or your connection for WFH goes down, either the kids play with some toys, or you can hotspot with your phone for the important Zoom meeting!

Hey, most of us have unlimited LTE plans, so we all have a backup. Also, to solely rely on a single connection for 100% in my view is wishful thinking as ALL ISPs have outages. I have voted with my wallet and sticking with Quic; they remind me of Snap! (they even have the same colours) and what they did for the tech community

Thank you all for the information, especially @quic

I'm going to hold off for another month or so and keep an eye on the status page and these forums before checking in again and seeing how things have proceeded. I especially look forward to the post-mortem on a the large outage. I fully appreciate all ISPs have issues, it's how they deal with those that set them apart.

All ISPs have issues as has been pointed out, however we've never needed a full second connection as a backup, and generally use our phones if it's needed or if it's looking like a long outage, head into the office or local cafe. Luckily that's only happened once or twice in memory.

I really appreciate the openness of Quic and is one of the reasons we are considering them, in addition to wanting to get away from the seemingly constant mergers of other ISPs. I'll keep any eye on this thread as the discussion has been great on all sides, and keep an eye out on the quic status page and this forum in general to see how things go.

Thanks again all.

With Spark putting their prices up, I'm in a position to move now to a competitor.

However, the Spark network is too damn stable to ignore and so have moved to one of its subsidiaries rather than Quic.

Just too many issues with Quic on a regular basis. My perception is, from the visiting the GZ forums, there is a new post each week of someone with an outage.

Also, I think it's funny saying my ISP is bigPipe.

The little things make the biggest difference.

You could move to Skinny if you want to remain on the Spark network. Thats what I use, no complaints at all.
