Hi there,
Just switched over today and all is working OK.
Is it normal to have no usage info showing and ONT diags showing reduced?
Thanks for any help.

Likely needs something done on their end to fully get ONT status etc running. You on the Chorus network?

@Michael - yes I am on Chorus, cheers.
I did notice this on our drive when coming home yesterday, the purple paint is the path our fibre takes....
Coincidence? I'm not sure what all the marks mean. It does serve our house + our neighbour.

Linux:CYaBro: My ONT status shows as reduced as well.
I suspect due to the distance we are from the exchange.
Doesn’t seem to affect anything and chorus won’t / can’t fix it.@CYaBro fibre is not impacted by distance like xDSL

We are ~400m from the cabinet and ~1.5km from the Exchange - I don't think distance is a factor, more likely a dodgy connection or poor quality splice.
No distance on Fibre will have nothing to do with this.
There are massive upgrades being done internally within Quic/Vetta and I'd say it is more than likely due to this.

Reduced displayed like that does usually mean that there are lower than 'acceptable' light levels on the link. Quic would be able to see in the API response from Assure exactly what the levels are.
Distance can absolutely impact light levels (though as others have said Chorus will usually do something about this at install time), as well as a poor/faulty splice, or even a dirty connector somewhere along the chain.

CYaBro: The light levels are affected.
I think the chorus tech who did the install said we’re about 21km from the exchange.
We’re rural. :)
Thanks, I guess you know what you are talking about :-)
I have to say the performance is fine - working as it should.
Vindy500:
Typically Gpon has an effective reach of 20k
20kms between closest and most distant customer.
That is a customer can be at 15kms, and another at 32kms on the same pon port if light levels allow.
Chorus has some of our connections going well beyond 20kms but our tails are on either a dedicated pon port, or been shared with another customer of similar distance on a smaller split count.
I believe the "Reduced" status is that the circuit being delivered via that ONT has not been up for very long to reach the minimum required level of uptime for the circuit to be regarded as "Good".
Or you may not be on a non-chorus network or where the LFC doesnt make the circuit status available via a developer-friendly API.
