Can't see anyone else mentioning an issue on status pages etc so assuming it's a me issue.

Went off right on about 7.30pm today – have restarted ONT and UDM Pro, disabled DHCP on Quic account page (hadn't set it up to use it yet anyway).

Quic site shows PPPoe connected and can use the diagnostics which seem to indicate ONT is online and can communicate.

ONT lights on: Power, GPON and LAN1.

Auckland based? There’s a fair bit out currently making me think there is a wider Chorus issue: https://chorus.co.nz/outages

Also what does the Quic portal say for you?

Down for me in Wellington too.

I've changed to using DHCP just now; and I get an IP address but no default route, so my gateway can't go anywhere...

Ah yep, Auckland based.

Shows connected via PPPoE on Quic account page.

@pknz Yeah was investigating another connection that also went down (in Auckland) and it appears something funky is going on with Chorus currently. I did ping somebody at Quic who are just double-checking everything on their side also but I can see the connections I monitor are still all online so suspect this is more of a local issue than a wider issue.

But I've been proven incorrect a few times now :) - log a fault if you haven't already. Same with you @dasimpsonsrule

This is an issue that can occur with some routers when using our implementation of DHCP. You can try add a default route to skirt around the issue other wise jump back to PPPoE. I think this is unrelated to the other connectivity issues.

Unconvinced it's unrelated, tbh.

My internet went down earlier this evening, and at the time, the router was PPPoE connected. I tried another router [still on PPPoE], nothing.

Reinstated first router, switched it to DHCP, still nothing.

Tried 2nd router on DHCP too - nothing either.

I've put my first router back on PPPoE; disabled DHCP on the Quic portal; and I'll wait and see what happens next, I guess.

Aware of the 30 minute switchover thing, btw

Is anyone else still getting IPv6 connectivity or it just me?

@dasimpsonsrule You tried flicking the switch to DHCP / IPoE? Just note, if you do you'll need to wait 30mins to switch back. Information here: https://www.geekzone.co.nz/forums.asp?forumid=194&topicid=311869

I have just tried that (changing from PPPoE to IPoE is really annoying on an Edgerouter) and it works! Although I have broken IPv6 in the process, but that can be a problem for tomorrow

FWIW, it seems to be fixed now - I had much the same issue - down at ~5am, on PPPoE. Wasn't able to trace out to the internet, and a trace back to the router was showing a loop. I'm based out of Hamilton.

@Madbushman @hsvhel @Viddy I think that may have been another issue looking at this: https://status.quic.nz/issues/65f0be9f386fb3734d506ed4

One of the connections I was monitoring went down and returned a few minutes later.
