Not sure if anyone else been down this route yet...

Moving house in few weeks and wish to stick with Quic. Their info say basically sign up again with new address and add note to indicate existing customer.

Questions...

Will I be pinged a setup fee again ? Guess I can use someones code ;)

Do I need to tick the static IP box or will my current IP be assigned on the new connection ?

👋

You are correct, you essentially need to order a new connection, then cancel the old once you're ready in the portal.

Unfortunately yes, you would need to pay a new setup fee as we are setting up a new connection.

In regards to moving IPs, you don't need to tick that box or pay for static addressing again. Once your new connection is live, you can complete the "IP Transfer Form" under the Support menu and move the IP services (static IPv4, static IPv6 subnet, static IPv4 subnet(s)) across to the new connection. 😊

Hope this helps!

@quic

I'm due to move on the 21/6, so if I setup "new" account today, I have to pay for that as well today ? So I'm covering 2x accounts ?

Don't really have any funds in place for an extra account (its all gone on moving costs etc) this month at the moment :)

If I leave it until closer to the move date, 1) how long will it take to connect (is current fibre connect there with another ISP), 2) how is billing managed from my original account, to ensure noone is losing out :) My usual billing date is around the 5th.

Thanks :D

I set up a connection in late March with a go-live date of May. I was charged the connection fee + first month immediately, but the second month isn't due to be paid until June.

Correct, with any connection, you'll pay the first month at time of order, then your next invoice will be due one month after your go-live date (not one month from your order date).

E.g. if you ordered 29th May, and requested go-live of 10th June, your next invoice would be due 10th July. You don't pay for the period you're not connected. 🙂

@quic thanks, put order in for new connection. FYI, I couldn't enter my phone number into the form as it said it was already in use :) So had to use wife's number.
