Title. Connection to the SEA server is very inconsistent. Some days it will be working. Other days it will not connect at all.

The game client will launch and is able to connect and queue for games, but the launcher content, in-game socials and store will not connect at all.

Anybody else who plays can corroborate?

Edit: I can see attempts but no response to following 95.85.74.94, 95.85.74.206

Double edit: in the minutes since I posted it is now working again.

Given those servers are in Singapore i'd suspect the issue is upstream from Quic

Best lodge a problem report in the Quic portal.

But AFAIK they’re aware of it and are working with an upstream about this. Doesn’t hurt to do a problem record.

From last night's news update:

Talking with Cogent. Chasing down a wild route from Singapore through Cogent that defies logic - BGP never sleeps.

Possibly that was resolved just as you made the post.

I posted that on discord the other day.

the data from my seedbox in Singapore went from Singapore, Aussie, Auckland, LA (USA!!) and back to Auckland then down to me in Wellington.
made unnecessary high latency and was sometimes completely unusable.

No change in the route since. still goes to LAX for no reason at all.

When i was on spark, it did the same thing.

As someone who does this for a living I can say Cogent is a US provider that does not have optimum routes into Asia (Singapore? Is that near Texas?). Buying upstream connectivity that has optimal routes into Asia is not cheap or easy as it requires having intimate knowledge of upstream providers paths. Cogent is good as part of a mix of upstreams but they are very much on the cheap side of options and this sort of issue is inevitable if that is going to be your primary upstream. The biggest issue here is its very difficult to break even as an ISP and justifying premium routes can be a difficult financial equation. As someone who has good knowledge of Sparks connectivity I can tell you their routing is more around contractual process and procedure than optimal routing as well.

Perhaps someone somewhere along the way tagged routing prefixes with the incorrect geofeed data?

May have more to do with their leased IPv4 addresses?
