Its back now, but was a few mins. By the time I got to the ONT to have a look at it, and then back to the computer it was running again, just the unifi hadn't updated that chart.

Been having multiple small outages at random times for a while now.
Every couple of days or so, sometimes every day but nothing since the 25th.
But as we have a 2nd fibre connection we fail over to that and don’t notice anything.
I only know it’s happened as I get notifications from the UDM SE.
Done all the usual checks and restarts but didn’t help.

Ah, think I did....  had two systems copying data to one another on the LAN, and couldn't access anything online for a little bit. Thought it was my cheap switch being thrashed so gave up. But time frame matches.

Will be interesting to know what these outages are as another user who I’m monitoring on the same BNG, in Dunedin has a solid connection with zero outages. Wondering if it’s something iffy with your router again? Ubiquiti seems to have some pretty annoying bugs with dual WAN

Haven’t seen anything on the connections I’m monitoring lining up with your outage @richms so may be localised. If it happens again then pop through a problem report to them.

The UDM SE ran a 2degrees connection as WAN1 and Prodigi connection as WAN2 / failover for a year without issue.
These disconnections only started after I switched to Quic.
There was that other weird latency issue I had a couple of months ago too, that a restart of the UDM SE fixed, but I never had that issue with 2D and Prodigi for a whole year.

@CYaBro there are some very recent bugs with UniFi routers affecting all providers when running dual WAN. You’ll note earlier a problem was resolved with a reboot. Unfortunately, I know many routers on other providers having similar issues as you’ve mentioned which is resolved for a little time after a reboot.

This is just like the last time when people were blaming IPv6 issues on their ISP’s when in reality another UniFi bug was causing extremely unstable IPv6.

But considering I’m monitoring 3 connections on the same BNG as you experiencing no issues this does sound like more of a localised issue with you and I know UniFi has a few Dual WAN bugs currently that does cause a fair few problems. Feel free to flick me your IP if you’d like me to add your connection to my monitoring to see if it picks up anything different.

No static IP address this time with Quic. :D

I restarted the UDM SE 6 days ago, after the disconnections you can see on the 22nd.

It's been happening almost every day, and goes back to the 12th Nov when it seems the issue started.
The only disconnections prior to that was overnight on the 30th/31st October but I think that was a maintenance window.
Has been solid since the 25th.

I suspect this isn't related. This does appear to look like the dual WAN bug I've been seeing across multiple UDM's. There's also another issue with the default ping address having multiple A records on it and UniFi being pretty trigger happy here.

Looking at other UDM's on my Ubiquiti account on Quic / Vetta I am not seeing this at all but the ones on my account do not have dual WAN failover configured.

If you're currently using IPoE then configuring it with PPPoE seems to assist with stability when using Dual WAN.

I thought it was on PPPoE but must have changed it some point. 🤪

Have switched to PPPoE now so will monitor and see how it goes.

FYI I have someone with a UDM SE with dual WAN currently and they've not had any issues but they're not with Quic.

Not sure on the exact conditions but I was assisting somebody who was using Dual WAN between 2degrees and Starlink and seeing this. In the end I had to move their route to beta firmware to resolve this.

It seems hit and miss.
