Does anyone know of a Distro that by default contains Docker and preferably Portainer.

For some reason the OMV6 package omv-extras which should install these does not work for me.

I have started to try installing in Ubuntu and Debian but with dependencies etc........

Thanks and Regards

Even the closest distro I can think of, Fedora CoreOS, is quite far off those requirements. Portainer does not come pre-installed and instead of Docker it uses Podman. Pretty straight-forward to swap for Docker but in 90% of cases you won't even notice the difference.

It can be quite intimidating to install as you may need to create an ignition file to configure the distro to your liking but once the initial setup is done it basically maintains itself.

Have you checked out Alpine Linux? In my opinion it is by far the quickest and easiest distro to install Docker and Portainer on, and as a bonus it's really light on resources.

Four simple commands and Docker is ready to go:

sudo apk update                            # Update the repositories
sudo apk add docker                     # Install Docker
sudo rc-update add docker boot   # Start Docker at system startup
sudo service docker start              # Start Docker

And then Portainer can be installed by running the two commands on their installation page (https://docs.portainer.io/start/install/server/docker/linux#deployment)
