Hi All, I am looking at getting a record player budget up to 600-700. I have been looking at audio dynamics Bluetooth and the Sony Bluetooth models . I have a few dumb questions I am stuck on I was needing some help with

Does technics 800 headphones work with these models

https://www.heathcotes.co.nz/products/lp60xbt-bk-audio-technica-auto-belt-drive-bluetooth-turntable-black?taxon_id=345

https://www.jbhifi.co.nz/headphones-speakers-audio/turntables/sony/sony-stereo-turntable-with-bluetooth-connectivity/363694/?gclid=Cj0KCQjw54iXBhCXARIsADWpsG-b_GwmSZlwCqtkTWHcxQJytpa1zn5yeg7aB3Fr0ua_sHoU4SNFy4caAtSoEALw_wcB

Can I Bluetooth the record player to a Bose 500 Soundbar?
I want to put the player in a formal lounge away from my Fosi amp can I Bluetooth the player to a Fosi Bluetooth receiver in another room?
If I go for a better audio dynamic player that only has rca connections can I add a Bluetooth receiver so I can connect my headphones?

I really like the Yamaha and technics models but they are super expensive but I do get why though .

There are plenty of bluetooth transmitters that will send audio to headphones and soundbars for a very reasonable price, and at least you know what codecs you will be getting on it, whereas all the internal ones in turntables seem to be bottom tier effort SBC ones.

You may need a preamp if the turntable doesn't have one. I got one for my new Technics for $20 off aliexpress. Just swapped the aliexpress grade wall wart out for something that I have some confidence in its safety and it works great.

The audio dynamic players have a preamp which is great . I have googled up about my headphones not much on the site I can’t even connect them to my Bose Soundbar have to use the Bluetooth function on the tv. I went to Noel lemmings and JB not really that great understanding what I am trying to do :(

Sound bars are usually only receiving devices for bluetooth so will not connect to headphones.

I don't mean this to sound judgey and I'm certainly no audiophile but I don't understand why you would buy a turntable to only listen to it via Bluetooth. Or maybe I misunderstood your intent?

Having said that, I've heard good things about those Audio-Technica turntables for entry level and I have a couple of friends that are happy with them. It supports aptX which is as good as it gets I think (as opposed to richms' probably mostly accurate comment that "all the internal ones in turntables seem to be bottom tier effort SBC ones".) I don't think your headphones support it though so you may be stuck with worse codecs, if that bothers you. I think the soundbar does support aptX.

I ended up getting the Bluetooth audio technics player so far so good . The main reason for Bluetooth was to keep the other half happy. I had an amp set up but moved to a Bose sound bar system I will be in trouble if I go buy another amp :). I am going to look at an amp solution again in the future as the Bose Soundbar I have doesn’t have any inputs for external devices. I also wanted to reduce the amount of tech in one the lounges , I think a Soundbar and front speakers and an amp are a bit to much. I could get powered speakers I should of gone with a different system than Bose I think .

I have had that Sony turntable for a couple of years, and it's a nice and basic entry-level model. Very similar in many respects I believe to the Audio Technica. Has features like internal phono preamp, fully automatic operation, 33/45 speed change with a simple button press, and bluetooth which can output to a receiver, powered speakers, headphones etc.

For the type of sound system you have, these tables are probably a decent way to go to start with. Sound quality is reasonable. But the budget nature of the table has its limitations. There is minimal upgrade potential, and the cartridge is not replaceable. It's a very lightweight and entirely plastic system which does no favours sonically. So I've been looking at upgrade options.

The frustrating thing is that almost all better quality turntables are fully manual operation these days. I appreciate the obvious reasons for exclusion of internal preamps and bluetooth capability, but it seems crazy that most turntables don't even have an auto-stop at the end of playback.

I'm looking at importing a Fluance table from the US which seems the best mid-level option for some combining entry-level 'audiophile' quality with some not-unreasonable conveniences.

I really liked the technics player but 2k is a lot for reliving my youth:). The sound is isn’t too bad through the Bose Soundbar, the other good thing is I have another one in the lounge so can have playing in both Soundbars. If I get addicted to it then may look at a better model and look at swapping out the Soundbar for an amp. Where do you get your vinyl from? Have been looking at Coda in the UK good prices but shipping dear. I can find this hobbie hopefully cheaper than Lego

It's awesome that you're enjoying it! And clearly the convenience of running it through the soundbars works well for you, which is great. I've genuinely been pleased with my Sony and even if I do upgrade, it will still get good use in another room.

My collection is a mix of 2nd hand and new purchases. I tend to get most of my new stuff these days from my local (Relics in Dunedin - fantastic store). Second hand comes from online stores like Relics, Vinyl Countdown (in New Plymouth, best value prices in the country new & 2nd hand!), and Real Groovy; along with op-shop finds, and trades in Facebook groups etc.

I recently made my first overseas purchase, from a Swedish store Hot Stuff. A mix of new and 2nd hand, their prices were great and given I purchased about 12 records, the postage wasn't bad. So I'm quite keen to explore other global stores like that, but shipping is always going to add up!
