Hi All

Running yamaha RX-A1080 and XDA-QS5400 which on the weekend when I selected one of my radio stations to play/stream, I was getting "access error" on the MusicCast app on the iPhone.

These two stations GeorgeFM & TheEdge I tried gave the same behaviour, yet when I tried Hauraki, this streamed successfully. I do need to try a few more stations, but it would seem those with Media Works as parent company would fall in to the "does not work" bucket.

Any ideas? Does this need a support ticket with Yamaha?

ive noticed the "tune in" app also has had issues in past few weeks with various nz commercial radio stations.

perhaps theres an issue at the source...

The issue most certainly appears to be with the source... Ie MediaWorks.

As net radio streaming isn't surveyed to my knowledge, the likes of MediaWorks put far less emphasis into keeping it running on multiple platforms. Basically they see it as a 'nice to have' but not a 'service is gauranteed' type arrangement.

Personally I would connect the FM tuner on your AVR and link those station presets to your XDAQS5400 if you still need MediaWorks stations.

FYI - The Rock Auckland isn't working for me... but the Rock Invercargill is.

So instead of chosing the station from my local stations feed, I searched it by its name and chose the first one that popped up... then saved it as a favourite.

Ive got the same, but with NZME stations via tunein.... chch off air, auckland might work...

dont get me started on why I cant properly use iHeart on alexia properly.... its always getting the command wrong or saying the stations Im asking for dont exist (and Im following the said radio stations advertised commands). ......then it reverts to using tunein.

A quick update - logged a web page/email support ticket with Yamaha USA (NZ did not have an option I could find) pointing out the streaming issue.
Got home last night form home with music playing one of kitchen zones - low and behold it was the "TheEdge". Checked with "GeorgeFM" and this working too. Call it coincidence??

@Goosey - not sure if this has fixed on TuneIn or not.

@Dunnersfella - thanks for the idea on "connect the FM tuner on your AVR and link those station presets". have FM aerial plugged in to AVR in which zone 1 drives theatre room and zone 2 drives family TV would you be able share some guidance on "link those station presets to your XDAQS5400" please? Understand how to link musiccast zones from iPhone App if this is what you a referring too but not linking station presets to XDAQS5400
