Sennheiser Momentum 5 have been released.
Checking the reviews now...
"Sennheiser MOMENTUM 5 Wireless is a set of ANC headphones that improve in many ways over its predecessor. Offering a user-replaceable battery, improved ANC, and very low distortion"
yeah... the Momentum 5 popped up on my youtube feed. anc improvement is always welcome, but i'm really keen on the replaceable battery. it's about time something like this popped up. aptx lossless support, and potential upgrade to bluetooth 6 are all good things.
Let's hope they follow up with TW5 ear buds ...
Hey addicts - I am selling my Focal Hadenys if anyone here is interested...

Momentum TW 4 IEM just dropped in price from $360 to $260 at most major retailers ... hopefully a clear signal that TW5 IEM are nearly here.

sennheiser seem to be having a general Winter Sale.
do any of you use a headphone stand? i'm thinking it would be nice on the desk at work. certainly in the even of water or coffee spills.
i have a wall hanger Z-Shape-Black-Hanger at home for use when charging. perfectly fine for the A800 and XM4, but the Px8 shows a line/crease from the edges of the hanger. not so much on the Px7, but perhaps because it's black.

A word of caution for those leaning towards the Momentum True Wireless 3, there is a known issue of one or either of the buds not working if you leave it uncharged/unused for a while.

So I'm seeing really conflicting reports of the ANC capabilities between the HDB 630 and the new Momentum 5
They both appear to be quite a step up from the Momentum 4, which wasn't that bad really but not block out levels of Bose/Sony.
Audio wise the Momentum 5 appears to have mega increased sub base and I have to admit I'm less enthralled by these than I had expected to be.
Add to that the insane release price of around $800 and frankly the HDB 630 is looking more and more appealing.
I'm assuming I could tune/boost the base region up in the HDB 630 anyway if that's a behaviour I found I actually missed in practise?
The M5's don't look bad and have elements ideal for travelling, better ANC and smaller case for example, but Audio wise I'm not seeing on the charts/reviews as big an improvement on the sound quality.

Edit to add, I noticed a few people found the overall volume levels of the HDB 630 really low but I've since seen reports people found settings (iphone especially) in the sound/haptics area that capped max volume and created this situation.
With that sorted it looks to be a non issue. Posting here in case anyone else encounters this and finds themselves in this type of situation in future.
i haven't had the chance to try them out, but yes, the pricing of the Momentum 5 confuses me, too. i've seen the HDB 630 go down to $798 (+ $50 HN voucher), so i'd be leaning towards that if i were shopping. as mentioned previously, user-replaceable battery is enticing. improved anc is welcome, but never the highest priority for me.
perhaps sennheiser are doing a sony and keeping the M4 alive at the $400-$500 (less when on sale) price range. the M5 effectively slots in between that and the HDB 630.
DHRME has a good take on these three - Sennheiser Momentum 5 vs Momentum 4 vs HDB 630.
interestingly (maybe), after just over 4 years of ownership, Sonova is shopping its Consumer Hearing business. this is basically the Sennheiser headphone business. some say the drastic design change from the M3 (i prefer this look, and premium materials) to the M4 was ushered in by Sonova.
Agree re M3 styling and materials. Would take that again any day over the sea of black plastic.
I notice Bose have released an update V2 of the QuietComfort range.
Brings the headband styling of the Ultras but toned down without the shiny bulky metal bit.
Supposedly some better noise cancelling etc.
Not sure if the headphones can fold up though like the original QC can now which was a really compact case for travelling?

The TW5 have officially launched, shipping early Sep 😀
Been waiting a long time for these. Will be replacing my faithful TW2 when black Friday rolls around.
