AMADEUS (1984) 4K has been announced for Australia, but its only the standard edition. The UK are also getting a nationwide Limited Edition SteelBook.

Its the Theatrical Cut

This never got a Blu-ray. It hasn't had an official release since the 90s!

I don't know about Australia, but I imported AMADEUS on Blu-ray from The US in a DigiBook, which I have recently sold.

That's not the theatrical cut (which, contrary to the "Director's Cut" name on the other one, is actually the director's preferred version).

Australian GST deducted at check out.

Great prices on Disney/Fox titles.

Make sure to check that titles you want are In Stock or you will have to wait at least an extra week before your order gets shipped.

I think 2025 will be the year that I go 💯% Digital. Physical Media prices are becoming a joke, and only the hardened collector will be buying them, making an already niche (4K) collectable, even more niche.

I was one of the many collector's that was hacked off when Disney decided to stop releasing physical media in Australasia. But, I can get all of their titles on digital at a much better price and I usually wait for  Apple to have an extra $10 off Disney titles every now and then.

There are arguments for and against both formats, which I won't go into as you all probably know what I'm talking about; but the scales are definitely weighted toward digital in my opinion.

I have over 600 titles that I have bought from the Apple Store over the years, which will be substantially added to in 2025, now that the shackles will be taken off of my wallet 😁

I will continue to do my regular posting in this thread. I am still interested to see how physical stands up in 2025.

I appreciate your posts mate; definitely opened my eyes to the Australian alternatives that seem to be more fairly priced. I will definitely be buying a movie or two via Apple next year to give it a go.

As Moana 2 climbs above the US$790 Million worldwide box-office, Deadline (a Hollywood news website) have revealed that Walt Disney Studios has passed the US$5 Billion mark globally in 2024. This is the first time that any studio has passed that mark since 2019 (Covid-19). It is the sixth time that Disney have grossed more than US$5 Billion globally since 2010.

Inside Out 2 and Deadpool & Wolverine earned well over US$1 Billion each; add to those Moana 2, Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes and Alien Romulus, plus several smaller productions, and there you have it.

Welcome to the Weekly 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray & SteelBook Release Schedule for Friday December 27th.

Well, that's 2024 done and dusted for new releases. It's been a good year for new titles in Australia/NZ, after fearing that things were going to come to a grinding halt. Already lots of new release announcements for 2025, but oh!, those prices. Hopefully collector's will be given the opportunity to add to their collection from the regular JBAU/NZ 20% off sales. Wishing you all:

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Click on the post# links for the individual release information (artwork, specs, etc.) where available. Just click on the link and it should take you to the correct post. Then click on the back arrow to return to the schedule.

Individual film artwork and specs will be posted as soon as ALL info is available  •  Release dates are subject to change  •  New Releases will be displayed for one week after release date.

Some imported Arrow titles are available at various JBNZ stores, which aren't advertised on their website and so, are not included in this weekly schedule.

WICKED (2024) has been announced for Australia in a standard edition release. Up to now, there is no announcement for a SteelBook release in this part of the world.

Walmart have exclusivity for a US SteelBook which is the same artwork as the UK wide release. This is a very popular film and some of the UK outlets have already sold out through Pre-orders.

Hopefully, we will get an announcement for a SteelBook release shortly.

GLADIATOR II (2024) has also been announced for Australia in a standard edition release. Again, no SteelBook announcement yet.

The US and the UK both have wide SteelBook releases announced, and they are available from Amazon. Artwork is different for both countries, and I prefer the UK artwork which I have posted in this post.

Once again, hoping for an Australian release.
