Mebojangles12:

Note: Driving Miss Daisy didn't win over Goodfellas as the former is a 1989 film whereas Goodfellas is a 1990 film that lost to Dances with Wolves (another controversial pick haha). I liked Daisy, is it Best Pic material? In my mind, no, but it was a rather weak list of nominees, so I do t have much gripe with it.

Sorry, got my Oscars wrongs muddled. It was Driving Miss Daisy winning when Do the Right Thing wasn't nominated for picture, that I was reaching for.

I agree with all of those best picture gripes, and Shakespeare in Love over Saving Private Ryan and Thin Red Line is still hard to fathom. And would have loved it if LA Confidential or Good Will Hunting had got over Titanic, but that would have been a massive upset.

Movieman:

The artwork for ANORA an upcoming Madman Entertainment 4K Ultra HD release, has been revealed. No A/V specs are available.

Criterion are releasing a DigiPak in the US with the following specs, which will likely be the same as we are getting. 4K HDR10/DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1/2.39:1.

New release date is April 30th, pushed back two weeks from the 16th.

Thanks, will def pick this one up. Awesome movie.

What do folks think the chances are of the Lionsgate Kill Bill and Jackie Brown releases showing up here? I held off on buying through Amazon as they were pretty pricey with no free shipping, and the steelbooks from Lionsgate Ltd wouldn't post here. Thought JB might have imported them given the assured demand, but perhaps they come from a different distributor down the track.

Anyone bought The Wild Robot locally ? Anyone know if its 4K or hopefully 4K plus bluray ?

It's just the 4K. Only the US and Canada got a 4K + Blu-ray I believe. I'm personally waiting to pick it up from the US.

Welcome to the Weekly 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray & SteelBook Release Schedule for Friday January 31st.

A good week for NZ releases, including the delayed Alien: Romulus US Import. No new releases from OZ this week. All of the new releases are included in the sale. The Terrifier releases have been pushed back to February 5th at JBNZ and could be included in the sale next week.

Disney's latest billion dollar box-office movie; MOANA 2,  is getting a SteelBook release in the US. Word is that there will be no standard release, but I can't find confirmation of this. There is no Pre-order link on Amazon yet. Disney are getting lazy again, with no title (except a large "2" on the front") and nothing on the spine. Another one for importers. Release Date: March 18th.

The UK usually have a standard 4K release in case any one is interested, with free shipping (over $59 order) upon release from Amazon UK through Amazon AU.

The artwork for the US SteelBook Edition of WOLF MAN (2025) has been revealed. This will probably be the same artwork that we get in Australasia. Pre-order is up at Amazon, but no release date.

Exactly what I did for Inside Out 2. Didn't want to pay the ridiculous price Disney wanted for the Steelbook only US release. Came with a slipcover too (as I suspect most UK Disney new releases will).
