Just an update on the above titles. All except Mulholland Drive are confirmed for 4K release in Australia. Mulholland Drive is getting a Blu-ray release, but no confirmation on a 4K yet.

Release dates are staggered weekly between April 9th and April 30th. Available to Pre-order from EzyDVD

There was a Classics Remastered 4k of Mulholland Drive that came out locally a few years ago, remember seeing it JB. I thought it strange it would get a re-issue so soon, but would welcome it, as the 2021 release disappeared quickly. Weird how that happens, so hard to know which titles are sold out in the blink of an eye (with no signal of it being a limited edition), while others sit on the shelf for years. Heat was another one that appeared briefly and then was gone.

Mulholland Drive has a 4K listing at Sanity. EzyDVD only have it listed as a Blu-ray at the moment, but the pricing is the same as the other 4K titles that are coming. Maybe a mistake by whoever listed it?

James Bond 007 creative control sold to Amazon /MGM Studios.

Which now brings us back to the question of "who will be the next Bond?". Aaron Taylor Johnson was expected to take over the role for the previous management, but now we are back to square one.

Lots of questions will be raised over this unexpected announcement.

I agree, these prices are just ridiculous and they keep climbing. Unfortunately, I wouldn't be surprised if JBNZ stop selling physical movies sometime sooner citing "lack of demand". I've reduced my purchasing lately, mainly ordering from JBAU or checking for deals on Amazon AU/US. Amazon AU have a bad habit of sticking a "deal" or "discount" sticker next to some films and it's the same price as before the "deal".

Good to see there's still some US imports coming in, but these prices are still a decent margin over importing. I purchased the Ahsoka SteelBook back in December directly from Amazon US for around $85 with free shipping.

Without 20% off I wouldn't be surprised if these sat on the shelves. I'm glad they have also introduced the live chat for a deal option for those of us who would rather support JB NZ.

How are they with the live chat deal option? I've never tried it.

Edit - Just tried their chat and asked if they could match or get closer to the JBAU price. Was told "Hi, thanks for coming through - unfortunately we are unable to match the AU site. It may be cheaper to have this shipped to NZ".

Guess I'll be ordering from JBAU.

As expected, A COMPLETE UNKNOWN (2024) will not be getting a 4K release in these parts. However, it is available for Pre-order from Amazon, although I suspect the current price is just a placeholder price.

4K Ultra HD release date is April 1st. Digital release is February 25th (US) not sure if NZ Apple Store will have it today. I will check after 6pm (midnight New York)

New York, 1961. Against the backdrop of a vibrant music scene and tumultuous cultural upheaval, an enigmatic 19-year-old from Minnesota arrives with his guitar and revolutionary talent, destined to change the course of American music. He forges intimate relationships with music icons of Greenwich Village on his meteoric rise, culminating in a groundbreaking and controversial performance that reverberates worldwide. Timothée Chalamet stars and sings as Bob Dylan in James Mangold’s A Complete Unknown, the electric true story behind the rise of one of the most iconic singer-songwriters in history. The film also stars Edward Norton as Pete Seeger, Elle Fanning as Sylvie Russo, Monica Barbaro as Joan Baez, Boyd Holbrook as Johnny Cash and Scoot McNairy as Woody Guthrie.

A Complete Unknown has been nominated for 8 Academy Awards including Best Picture, Best Director James Mangold and Best Actor Timothée Chalamet as well as 6 BAFTA Awards including Best Actor Timothée Chalamet, Best Supporting Actor Edward Norton and Best Picture, and 3 Golden Globe Awards® Nominations including Best Actor Timothée Chalamet, Best Supporting Actor Edward Norton and Best Drama Picture. The film also received 4 SAG Awards nominations including for Outstanding Performance by a Cast in a Motion Picture, and a PGA and WGA Awards nomination. Mangold was nominated for the DGA Awards, his first DGA nod.

Apologies if this has been covered on an earlier page, but has anyone used Zavvi.com.au of late? I've never used them and had read a lot of complaints about lengthy delivery, damage and poor customer service etc, but noticed their only shipping option to NZ was now tracked/5 day delivery ($20) so wondered if perhaps they had upped their game.

It's looking the most likely place to get the Kill Bill steelbooks ... but possibly not worth the risk.

Also, not sure if anyone has had this vexing experience, but I'm repeatedly sent emails from Amazon.com.au suggesting I buy a $120 Fury Road steelbook, despite the fact the website has yet to fulfill my order from last year of the same release, when it was about $70. When I asked the popup Amazon bot about this, it told me the version I had bought was sourced from Amazon UK and was not available, but the expensive one would from Amazon US was. They're two entirely different companies, of course.

I bought some Disney titles off them in their 10 for $120 sale. Haven't had to deal with support but shipping time was great, 2 weeks from dispatch to arrival at my place. packaging was great and no damage to the items. Zavvi I would reccomend for movies, much more than amazon (who just throw in an envelope).

Sorry I should've mentioned, they don't price match Aussie websites, but they will discount the full price. I actually picked up a few titles from them 25% off, because they were older and low stock (which is obviously better than 20% off sale) - However it varies between each item,  some steelbooks u can only get a few dollars off.

I've had three deliveries from Zavvi AU over the last year, all of them being steelbooks. They all arrived in perfect condition, having been well-packaged. The delivery times are probably the only negative I can say about them as the all took about three weeks to get to me. Though to be fair all their deliveries come from the UK. I've currently got the LOTR 4K Steelbook Collection on the way. It was dispatched last Friday with an estimated delivery of the 13th of March. I've also got the Kill Bill steelbooks preordered at Zavvi.
