With recent price increases across the board, I'm considering switching back to digital purchases through iTunes. I wanted to check in with everyone to see what your purchasing habits look like these days and how you've been handling the price hikes.

I was looking at ordering the new Thunderbolts steelbook, but at $81, that's a tough pill to swallow. Even the standard edition is $65. JBNZ new releases are now listed at $55 minimum unless it's a Roadshow catalog item.

Those $4.99 4K Dolby Vision/Dolby Atmos digital deals are looking more and more appealing these days.

What's everyone else doing? Have you changed your collecting habits, or are you sticking with physical media despite the costs?

My JB Hifi purchases are aligned with public holidays (for the usual 20% off sales).
For the rest I tend to watch Amazon and blu-ray.com for deals.
I save 4K purchases for special movies only, otherwise it's standard Blu-ray for me

I've definitely slowed down with the 4K purchases the past year. Now that I have just over 250 physical 4K movies, I'm pretty satisfied with what I have.  Yes, I have a wishlist of 4Ks, but like the previous post, I wait for sales such as the BOGOF with JB Australia, and percentage sales with JB NZ, EzyDVD etc to make purchases.  For the foreseeable future, I'm sticking to physical media.

I've also slowed down on buying physical 4K's a bit, but mainly because I've already purchased most available movies that I wanted in the format. There's still plenty of new releases and upcoming releases which temp me (Master & Commander, one of my favourite movies, just got announced for 4k last week and I preordered the steelbook without hesitation). I'm still buying mostly from Amazon US, Zavvi AU, and occasionally TradeMe and JB-Hifi AU. I don't buy very much from JB-Hifi NZ because of the steeper prices and the fact that they receive their movies much later than overseas sources.

I still like my physical media, but not a hugely active buyer. I’ll get my fav 2-3 movies of each year and slowly upgrading old DVDs to 4k when they get a reissue.
The price increase has def made me less inclined to make an impulse purchase. I paid decent money for the Arrow editions of The Dollars Trilogy but they are gorgeous sets, and very happy to have. And today I picked up the 4k steelbook of Sinners.
A recent Amazon order got lost which has soured me on them for the time being, and much harder to spot a bargain there.

I’m still not excited to see reissue announcements, but pleased I’m not a horror collector - too many movies!

As above, most of the 4Ks I want I've got already. Have just ordered Master and Commander (with a definite bit of hesitation) and also Harvey. I also see there's a 4K of The Man in the White Suit coming, suitably expensive of course, but its Ealing Comedy, so I'm sure I'll succumb.

sorry, meant to say I AM excited by reissue news. I’ve got a handy list of movies I’m keen to upgrade or finally acquire, such as Swingers, Ed Wood, The Before trilogy and my fave contemporary western; The Three Burials of Melquiades Estrada.

Got the ones I want already, as in Harvey, Air America, Kind Hearts and The Ladykillers.

Oh, and Master and Commander.

There's ones coming out overseas, as in The Man in the White Suit, One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest, An Agatha Christie boxset of 80s(ish) movies, The Sound of Music, The Battle of Britain, a Pink Panther boxset, all for the usual bargain prices no doubt...
