Using the new 7075 build (RC1) of Win7, an AMD X2 @ 3Ghz and a 8300GT videochip which supposedly supports hardware H264 decoding, but even with the latest "official" nVidia Win7 beta drivers, CPU usage is hovering around the 70% mark while watching TV3. My guess is that it's not using the GPU, any idea how to force it to do it?

Other than that and the resulting very average framerates, the EPG works fine with the little Pinnacle nano-USB DVB-T tuner and MCE seems a little more stable than with the 7000 build.

Think I'll need to start saving the $$ for Windows 7 "Ultimate" as I suspect it might be the only version that will do everything I want, unless I get the media edition and run a Linux VM for the server functionality...

I'll stick the 8500GT in there and see if I can get the Hybrid Boost SLI thing to work and see if that helps, gonna triple the noise output of my nice quiet HTPC :(

I have installed Win7 7000 and like it but need to restore or reload as I have broken it with BSE EPG (I am sure this is me playing too much and not BSE).

Does anyone know how the updates work? If I reload build 7000 and apply the updates, is that the same as downloading build 7075?

The updates are mostly just minor fixes and updates for Windows defender. 7075 has a number of core changes, kind of akin to a service pack level of alteration. You can upgrade from 7000 to 7075 from the 7075 installer, but you can't use Windows Update to do it.

Can you confirm you have 7075 and not 7057? If so, where did you get it?

It's 7057. Full title for 32 bit is 7057.0.090305-2000_x86fre_client_en-us_Retail_Ultimate-GB1CULFRER_EN_DVD if you want to google it. The is talk of a 7061 biuld about but it's not yet available anywhere other than official microsoft sources.

FreddyK: I can confirm that the 7057 build has fixed the NOVA-T500 dual tuner bug. Well, in the x64 version of it has anyway.

To a point I agree it has fixed the dual tuner issues for Nova-T-500, but sometimes I lose video (black screen) or audio one or the other. Since it is media center though you can close and reopen or just start playing the recording from the start and the video/audio returns.

Just do a system restore back to a point in time when it was working. I had a issue with waking from sleep and when I reset the computer it stuffed windows completely, ie wouldn't login with an error message about the profile being corrupted. did a restore and het presto back to a working condition.

I've never encounter that problem myself after using it for 3 days, but have read of others who have. My only problem is that my motherboard is a bit long in the tooth and the only drivers I can find for my audio only support 2 channel stereo.

As soon as Hauppauge release the up-coming new drivers, I'll stick the x86 version back but in the mean time, Im happy with the way its working (oh, and my wireless also doesnt have x64 support.)

EDIT: Fixed my audio issue.

So can anyone confirm if the problems with using guide over the air (dvb-s) and dropping schedulked recordings has been fixed in this build?

(Oh and does this site crash on every page refresh with a long running javascript problem for anyone else using IE8??)
