I'm running the 7057 x86 build with a Nova-T 500 dual tuner DVB-T card and am pretty happy with WMC performance out of the box. I haven't needed to install any additional drivers or software, apart from the official drivers through Windows Update.
The problem I'm encountering is not getting all of the TV guide downloaded. I can't see a pattern to it, as some channels don't download any guide, some download just a few hours in advance, and others just list the channel name in the guide. Are others here getting the full guide downloaded or is this a common problem for everyone?

You will only get now and next listings from the Freeview DVB-T as that is all they transmit in the format the MCE can read, if you want the full guide you can put a dvb-s tuner card in and map the listings across but the are issuse with the DVB-S guide which are being sorted at the mo. Might be fixed in the latest build of windows which you have.

I'm not even getting now and next listings for all channels. For example, TV3 and C4 aren't getting any listings at all.

I upgraded from 7000 to 7057 and rescanned to remove the BSE epg.

I initially had good now/next for all channels (even more than just now or next). But once those programs dropped off it has been getting steadily more sparse.

Now I just get now/next for 3 and 4.

I would welcome any ideas.

I am leaning toward using the DVB-S guide data for DVB-T. Does anyone do this for MCE using the Hauppauge HVR3000 card and can confirms it works?

PVR: Intel E8400 3.0GHz, MSI 945GCM5, 2GB RAM, MSI 8500GT HDMI, Hauppauge HVR3000, Philips 47pfl9532, MediaPortal RC2

If you are talking about the guide I posted on how to use Sky's EPG, then yes it does work but is messy.

Can I ask why you stopped using BSE? It is definitely the best solution out there at the moment.

I've been trolling through all of the posts on here re Windows 7, set it up yesterday, build 7057 and scanned for DVB-T channels. I must say it is working fantastically except when I change to some channels they are just blank screen with no sound. restart it & they are fine & others are gone. Everything is working well and its stable and no crashing between channels. This is my desktop PC and if I get it working well I will try it on my media centre which is running a quad tuner with the reg hack for DVB-S in VMC and Powercinema for DVB-T. Took me a while to get that set up how I wanted it so dont want to screw with it if I cant get Windows 7 running well but so far I love the look of 7.

If you're runing Vista Ultimate on your media center, you can do a full computer backup before testing Windows 7, and then if you need to switch back, it's just a simple restore and you're back into Vista. I've done this several times and it works a treat. Unfortunately, the full image backup isn't in Home Premium, so you'd need some other image backup tool to do it (ShadowProtect, Acronis, etc...)

Yes I was thinking of doing that but thought I'd try & see if anyone else had encountered the issue I'm having before I do it. I'm running ultimate on the VMC but haven't used the image backup, I have Ghost though and was going to give that a go.

The Vista full computer backup/restore works really well, I've used it several times now.

Thats a password protected archive, whats the password? I thought 7057 was the latest will give it a go.

I am burning iso now. I assume I can upgrade from 7057.

I have still been having trouble with the satelite EPG and the ID changing thing - losing recodngs etc, cause of the program ID changes (previously mentioned in this thread). Does anyone know if it is fixed in 7068 - thanks.

Just a small word , came across Windows 7 Build 7068 x86 tried it, thought it was big improvement over pervious builds. Tried to share links for another Geek zone members to download and had my posts deleted twice by the administrators. The reason I was given, its pirated software, seems to me these beta builds get leaked out by Microsoft just for us to try out. After all they are betas with valuation copy stamped all over them, don’t see the problem.

I see your point but it's not really good form to post links to non-official downloads of Microsoft software. Better just to tell people to use Google to find the downloads themselves. It's not difficult - I just Googled it and the first result was a link to the torrent.

Hi guys,
I want to try out Windows 7 with my rig but I'm having trouble downloading the beta.

Has anyone in Auckland already got a copy of version 7057 or preferably 7068 I could grab the old fashioned way (by foot?)

By the way, I've been using Cyberlink Powercinema 6, but it's unreliable and Cyberlink just don't seem to want to know. Four months I've had cases logged with them, and four months later nothing is fixed...

Hence I want to try Freeview on Windows 7, but from what I've read I need something newer than build 7057 to support my Nova T 500 PCI card.
