received my nyxboard hybrid remote from pulse-eight.com (only ordered it on friday using the cheapest shipping, i was impressed at the speed, since estimate was 9 to 13 days).

works out of the box with raspbmc :)

great little remote, easy to program your tv remote into this. its a hybrid (hence the name) RF and IR remote. its uses RF to control xbmc and IR for your tv/other device, and you just switch between input methods (so you cant push volume up in xbmc to change volume on tv, you have to first swap to IR mode then volume).

and on the raspbmc side of things, menus are pretty fast now with the latest nightly builds. still room for improvement, most with large lists with posters, and when playing back video in the background.

but general use the menus arent slow (not super fast, but i wouldnt say slow either)

I think I may need to retract my previous comments about the UI being sluggish, and perhaps put it down to the input lag on my TV.

The UI still isn't all that super speepy, but I think the main thing I'm noticing is the input lag on my TV. Somewhere in the vicinity of 140ms according to my AVR, which is adjusting the audio to counteract for the video input lag.

Mine was abit sluggish using the Stable build, but after a "restart" seemed to operate a bit more smoothly, my guess was that it was downloading Addon updates.  Still can''t get it to mount my 500GB NTFS drive though :-(

They've just hit Raspbmc RC3.

Info here: http://www.raspbmc.com/2012/06/raspbmc-release-candidate-3/

EDIT: Oh nice, it's got its own Windows installer now. Very fancy.

That's a critical weakness of forums. Fingers crossed a "curator" will create another thread and distil the key information into a single post that is regularly updated.

If I buy one of these things......I might do that.

So for some reason with all my impatience I ended up with two of these little devices. I have one on my desk from element14 and another from RS Farnell on the way.

I would like to sell the second one but don't want to put it on trademe as would like it to go to someone who actually will use it.

Cost me exactly $56.61 NZD so will sell it for that + shipping as soon as my second one lands whoever wants it? (its the model without any accessories)

No probs - email is on its way! Just didn't want someone to put it back on trademe and inflate the price. Kind of goes against the raspberry pi way!
