CGA says goods have to be of acceptable quality, One of the things Acceptable quality means is to be free from minor defects

There was a fix for some Samsung users who were repoting light bleed in their screen corners. The fix was to take the back off the set and loosen and retighten certain screws. Might be worth a try

There is also a screen massage trick

If it's under warranty I wouldn't touch it! Take it back to the retailer who you have the contract with, advise them that you reject the goods as faulty under the CGA and demand a replacement or refund.

Lazy is such an ugly word, I prefer to call it selective participation

Absolutely

If you try to fix yourself you are screwed and on your own. Anyone advising you to do this is giving very bad advice.

Ok it might be going a little far to attempt a DIY fix. At a last resort if they won't allow it to be replaced or repaired.

I assume you have also tried a firmware update?

^^ yup I have seen that fix but never tried it, as it was under warranty I wouldn't want to void any thing. The TV is still sitting at the authorised repairer at moment.

they have to do one or the other or refund you. so either way you shouldnt have to DIY it

On another annoying note, when I purchased this tv I also purchased a matching lg 3d blu ray player 5.1 tall boy home theatre system at the same time from appliance shed. Does any one know if the passive blu ray player (apparently there is no difference in players only the way tv's decode it) work with say a samsung/panasonic/sony ACTIVE 3D tv?

I should think it would. All 3D Blu Ray discs are the same so I guess all players are the same. It's only the TV that decodes and displays either passive or active.

Dunnersfella: get on the phone, asking all other retailers for a Panasonic TH-P60ST60z.

Unfortunately the last place I found with this TV in stock was Magness Benrow just got off the phone with them, all sold out.... the other major retailers I been looking around don't seem to have much in terms of plasma....

Plasma is a dying tech for the standard consumer, consumers usually want "cheap" so thats what the retailers get in stock, which usually means LED/LCD.

Weve got two Panasonic plasma's (cant remember models), only issue we've had is that the sound is playing up on the older one, but easily resolved by using ext amp - only gets used as a display for a media PC.

As above. It's the retailer who needs to take it back and arrange it to be fixed, replaced or money back. They have to deal with LG, not you.

It's under warranty. You don't touch it, you have to let them do it.

Also don't forget that under the CGA you're entitled to have repairs done in a timely manner if you are having to wait 2~3 months for a repair this is not a timely manner even if they say they're flat out doing repairs that should tell you one thing the TV's are Sh!t and stay well away
