Binned sky last week too.  Freeview with GB-PVR and the satellite epg is great.  Skips all the adverts and watch when you like from 1,2 3 and TVNZ 6. The picture quality is so much better with the digital Nova-S card.  Straight from the PC via HDMI to the projector. TVNZ 6 has got some great nostalgia programming particularly enjoyng Roger Halls Market Forces !

Dumped Sky last week. Will pick up a Freeview decoder soon.

Just got bored of flicking through the channels and seeing the same programs on night after night. I hope to never again see a 'girls of the playboy mansion' episode.

Mattnzl: If everyone just ditched Sky, they would no longer have lots of money to outbid the FTA broadcasters, so live sports etc. would return to TV1/TV3.
OK, that's my rant over with Tongue out

Or you could run for parliament and get a law added here like the Aussies have that guarantee the free-to-air players get first call.

personally I'd rather Sky had it.  At least they won't bombard you with ads, and delay coverage of stuff for 'important programming' like the news and Coro St  Undecided
