another update.  Thought I would give mediaportal another try but when scanning I left it during the night and next morning I see it crashed during the night taking windows files with it.  Windows 10 itself gave error messages and restored itself to earlier restore point.
  People were saying not to use Mediaportal 2 as still in develpment. Well i tried MP2 and very easy to get working and very quick. Way way better than MP1. I love it so far and has been trouble free.  Now as it has been very stable I will now install the tV card and set that side up and see how it goes.  If that goes well then I will be happy and have a true WMC replacement.
