How big is your lounge? 2-3K can get you a 65" 4K Smart TV ...

But is it an OLED though?

Sorry to break your bubble, but 2-3K ain't getting you OLED unless you would like an iphone X.

Yep as above, you won't get a 4K OLED on the budget you have, throw another $2k in the mix to get you started.

The pricing of OLED's here is just plain bad compared to across the ditch. I'm glad I only paid $2800 for my B6 LG at the start of the year and brought it across with me. I was fortunate to be able to do it and have it survive the trip. If I was here already and needed to buy a TV an OLED would be off the cards completely. It's really unfortunate as they are utterly stunning pieces of tech that are out of reach of many people. Even the C7's in AU are only $3000 now. In time they'll become the norm but that'll take a while, I mean I recall reading about OLED as far back as the early 2000's so it shows how long it's taken to come to fruition as a consumer product.

If you can stretch to $2.5k, Sony 55X9000E may be worth considering too. It has some fancy features including: Netflix, HDR, Direct LED backlight, local dimming ... etc.

But if your LG is still going strong and you don't have much 4K content to watch, you may want to save a bit more and longer for OLED models like some do.

Thanks guys I might wait until Nov/Dec and see what happens with prices. You've given me a great idea of what's what. It comes down to $$$$ now.
