Many of the 10" 12" subs Ive tried were boomy rather than really low .
And as you say, room plays a big part , perhaps why they all sound boomy in my house.

 


That SVS goes surprisingly low . Didnt expect that for a 10"

Sotrry i get it npow. PB ported bass, SB sealed bass? Ported all the way ! (for home theatre that is)

Yea everything I have read suggests the sealed one is still pretty good if you need a smaller unit, but the ported is better

Yep - I went with ported (PB2000) as 90% of the usage of that system is HT, so I wanted the impact more than a possibly more refined approach of a sealed unit. When I win Lotto, though, or sell my kids, I think it'll be time to upgrade to something like the SB 16 Ultra.

no, the upgrade you need is 2x PB2000. that's all you need. if you win lotto, you get 4x PB2000, that's 4x better than one SB16 ultra.
