Yes, but some time back the inbuilt stopped working because NZ is different to the rest of the world, but it does have a plugin that reads in an xml file. So for the last about 8 years I have been using the geekzone EPG Collector. I say geekzone as that is what the directory is called that it installs in. It worked perfectly till last Friday. I have only had to upgrade the collector about 2 years ago when there was a change. So every morning at 9:00am the bat file would go and update the xml. What is confusing is that my Sony TV has never had an issue till now either.

It's good to see you've got it sorted, but for clarification NZ isn't different to the rest of the world.

For the first 6 or so years of Freeview|HD it only broadcast the 8 day EPG in MHEG5 and only now and next was broadcast using the EIT EPG (the "standard" EPG) so you had to rely great apps such as EPG collector to extract the data from the MHEG5 EPG and write it to a XML file.

However the full 8 day EPG has been broadcast using EIT for probably 3 years so now so applications like NextPVR that I use I get the full 8 day EPG without needing to use any 3rd party applications. I'm just surprised that Media Portal doesn't support that yet, because the only thing that's semi unique in NZ is the use of Huffman coding on the EIT table, but that's something quite a few countries now use.

When I process the ts file I get data from the 27/7 to 4/8 without any MHEG5 protocol errors so it looks like either Freeview has a problem or MHEG5 is stopping on terrestrial.

Satellite MHEG5 is still OK though.

Looks good on my Office PC build I did yesterday using the EPG Collector settings HooDoo said in his post. Tomorrow I will negotiate an outage on the main TV/Media and give it a try. Thank you so much all!.

I am not a Techo person, just a user. My comment about NZ being different is from learning's about 8 years ago. Basically I struggled with Windows 95MediaCentre, moved to MediaPortal and loved it. It worked out of the box and then about 8 years ago the EPG just turned to a dot for each entry. The rest of the MP world did not appear to have issues and that is when I moved to EPG Collecter which has worked ever since. I did not even no about MHEG5 and EIT till this weekend. I did some research in the MP forum and there is a EIT collector planned for the TV server release, but no time frame.

Again thank you all, I can rest easy tonight - Happy wife-happy life. wink

I just ran EPG Collector on 530000 and 610000 from Wharite, and got good MHEG5 data from both, going out to 12/8/2018 on most channels.  As did my run of mhegepgsnoop.py at 15:27 on my Ubuntu box.  So it seems the MHEG5 data is fine from Wharite.

I've seen issues for the past few days off Kaukau using EIT on NextPVR which has been a rock solid solution since they started broadcasting 8 day EIT a few years ago.

Had no data for TVNZ1 last night, and seeing non for Three tonight. Other channels seem to be randomly missing data as well.

I think that there's a Network ID/PID whitelist for Huffman decoding in MediaPortal, which currently only includes the UK's Freeview and Freesat.

Could someone try this version of TSWriter (it adds NetworkID == 8746) with the MP's DVB EPG grabber and report back?
Stop TV Server, go to "C:\Program Files (x86)\Team MediaPortal\MediaPortal TV Server\" and backup TsWriter.ax, then copy TsWriter.ax over from the zip and start TV Server. Setup the DVB EPG and TV EPG Grabber sections and then click on Refresh EPG in the Manual Control section or wait for the grabber to run according to your settings.

Edit - I can't post links here yet, the file is at mega.nz/#!o2AkTKYT!VPbQb3EUOyJlGMdO6ZPX_C39AEDA2BtK0c5Osty2mB0
