Well i had a perfectly working RC1 install but thought i'd try RC3 last night...

Sheesh, no audio, or video on my HVR2200 after a complete reinstall of MediaPortal and the SQL database.

I didn't think that codecs would make much of a change but thought i had best try anyway and ended up being able to get audio on all Freeview channels but no video no matter what i tried.

I was able to scan for the channels fine and it picked them all up, but i couldn't preview them or watch them in MP at all. Really not ideal so i reverted back to a ghost image and am back up and running and will wait until the final release before i bother trying to upgrade again i think.

All in all i don't think i should have to resort to reinstalling windows from fresh when i want to upgrade a piece of software.

Weird, I have an HVR4000 and i could not get it to work on RC2, no matter what i tried.

Upgraded to RC3 and now I could preview channels but they would not display in MP

Upgraded to the latest SVN, yay, all working perfectly!

I have upgraded to RC3 and it took several goes of installs to get it working. Uninstall RC2 - Install RC3 - Uninstall RC3 - reinstall RC3. Could not get RC2 working again after installing RC3 - I will have to install Vista again to get back to RC2

Finally all is working except......

Whenever I am watching channel 3 I cannot change channels (get a frozen picture if I change to another channel). All other channels change fine as long as I stay clear of TV3.

If I want to leave channel 3 I have to turn the TV off, change channel and turn TV back on.

Any ideas why this Bug is happening???
Has anyone else had this issue?

Runing Vista SP1 and Nova-T 500 card.
I am thinking about trying an SVN or two as I have no desire to install Vista again.

I like Media Portal but it is a lot of work at times ....

Krazykid - there must be something seriously wrong if you needed that many reinstalls to get it working. Perhaps try a complete uninstall by searching for all mediaportal related files and deleting them (application data etc), then performing a RC3 install. Alternatively perhaps theres something its not liking with vista.
The problem you're having at first guess is a codec issue.

Have to say that I haven't had any of the above problems with RC3. Installs fine. Sets up fine. Runs fine.
No problems with audio or video or anything like that.

Dude, what codec's are you running? I had same problem, not sure what fixed it but i'm guessing its codec related.

Codec makes sense.

Either I missed something with the uninstall - just used the uninstaller suppliered and cc cleaner to clear the reg. - or there is hidden codec issue,

I am running cyberlink PCM 45 that came with the Nova-T 500 that worked sweet before.

I think a full install is in order - bugger. Ahh well something to do over labour weekend.

Cheers guys
