gulfa: Seems a lot more stable still has a time shifting problem could be meI would hope so, considering it is the combined collection of recent SVNs.
mcraenz: What issues are you having MrAlan?

Dingbatt: Because I haven't organised a RAR unpacker I stuck with the original RC2 until I updated to RC3.
One thing I did under RC2 (and RC1 for that matter) was archive TS files and their accompanying XML file out of my recording folder so that I could watch them at my leisure without fear of accidental deletion.
After moving the files, I could go back to the 'recorded tv' files and using clean up and delete invalid recordings to erase the recordings from the database.
This method no longer works in RC3. Is there another way to remove the offending database entries? Or is there a better way to archive the recordings you want to keep.

I just copy the recordings I want to keep to my movies folder. Then delete them as normal from the recording folder through My TV.
If your worried about filesize of the recordings you can use handbrake to compress them with xvid or other codecs.

Dingbatt:
Yes that is what I used to do but I had to move the files to my Movies folder using windows explorer from outside MediaPortal. Are you saying you can move them from within MP?
No luck with the right-click option in recorded TV, when I select the delete recording option it comes up with an error saying it can't delete the file.

I use explorer to transfer my recordings although it wouldn't be too difficult to create a plugin to transfer selected recordings to the movies folder from within MP.
If you 'copy' the file and not 'move' it then it should still be able to be deleted successfully from the My TV section. If you have moved the file then I believe there is a option in the tvserver configuration under recordings to delete entries from the database for files that no longer exist.

Dingbatt:I, too, had this inability-to-uninstall-deleted-files-issue. First time I have struck it. Thanks for the pointer, Dingbatt.MrAlan:Dingbatt:

Bingo! Thanks, the TV-Server Config bit did the trick to get rid of the stubborn database entry. But I'm just wondering what's changed in RC3 to prevent the move option followed by delete invalid recordings from working.
