alavaliant: My mind boggles thinking about how much money the people who buy items like this have...

People like Roman Abramovich maybe?

Article on Roman's new 455m-long Superyacht

Yip , although he might need to spring for a $300K USD on a self levelling carbon fibre pool table to complete the look....

Coincidentally YouTube suggested this One Man's Dream - Ken Fritz Documentary about the world's best stereo system video for me yesterday.  I haven't watched it through but did watch some clips which just left me shaking my head in silence.

Imagine the depreciation on those when you drive them off the lot.

120K less in straya and 280K less in blighty - is that how much the carrier insurance costs to ship them here?

Interesting - the Australian distro is also the NZ disto...

And Addicted 2 Audio is one of the distributors owned stores.

I'm guessing any purchaser would simply point this out and at least receive a MASSIVE discount to bring it in-line with the pricing across the Ditch?

Although if you are gonna spring 500K on the speakers, you have better ensure your system has the purest power feed possible with this $100,000 Gold power cable ..... (never mind the 100s of Km of aluminium conductors between you and the nearest power station)

You can get a fancy looking power cable for 0.01% of the price of that one at my fave online retailer - https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005003172794889.html

I just think about the frequency range of the human ear for different ages … especially those in the age group capable to pay for the price tag, regardless of being a billionaire. So Audio isn‘t the real reason to buy it … :-)

Your life may be complete, but your bank balance will take a massive hit by the time you add the extra $5,000,000 for all the other overpriced fancy pants bits that are needed to get the speakers to actually emit noise.

The real debate of course is though do you toe them in or leave them straight to achieve the best sound imaging?
