Here's the model stereo we had back in the day - including the cabinet and the speakers with the super attractive foam grills.

nothing particularly good about them either . 70's tech
Nothing to loose buy using the gear you have , no matter how old.
Especially if using old speakers as well .
I would only use with speakers that you dont care about, disconnect power when not in use and not connect it to any sources that you care about either.

Mrs Code owned one like that when we got married in the 80’s and that sealed the deal for me - what a dowry!
Sometimes I just sit and think. Other times I just sit.

I don't think the unit I have has seen power since the 80s.... hmmmm
I mean, what could go wrong? 🤣
Roused my curiosity. I had the old Fountain Gemsonic with valves for my first stereo. Don't put an LP on top of it! The valves ensure it gets very hot. Had a marvellous sound for its time. Paired with the right speakers it sounded great, if not overly loud.
Those 2 pin DIN plugs were common for European speaker connections. My later B&O amplifiers had those, plus 5x180 DIN input sockets. Good training for soldering skills.
....and we're in like Flynn

I'm suprised how much empty space there is... how does the build quality look? 🧐
Will test with a multimeter over the weekend, hopefully it will power up.
