The only thing I dislike about XM4s is that they press on the arms of my glasses and after a while that gets uncomfortable. The ANR and the sound is bliss. The microphone works very well, which is a bonus.

The sound quality of the Mic in the XM4 consistently gets panned I thought?

Apparently, the cups of the XM5 are noticeably more compliant and soft so that may help with your glasses potentially.

XM3 has terrible mics. It was improved on the XM4

My views (except when I am looking out their windows) are not those of my employer.

I can't recall the XM3 it was a while ago, I agree it was terrible, I still thought it was pretty average on the XM4, but it's not my daily driver any longer, so I'd have to look back on it.

Others who use it more frequently would be better qualified to comment I'd imagine :)

The XM4 could only improve on the XM3 for mic quality!

Naturally it is folks on the other end of Teams calls that are the recipients of the XM4 mic quality. When I've asked, they've just said "clear as a bell".
