No. Like Rusty I didn't have any luck with several motherboards (HTPC board is an Asus P5B Deluxe) and a ST Labs PCI serial card with a Moschip IC. The Sunix was only $25 so didn't break the bank. At first I didn't think the Sunix was going to work either until I came across a post about that carddetect setting.

As for software, I'm now using acamd and dvbviewer beta. My channel change times are approx 1 sec. The final step of my setup is to get multiroom subscription when the new dvbsbridge is released. 2 sky DVBS and 2 Freeview DVBT.

Did the how-to on setting up newcs with mediaportal and Infinity card reader ever get posted?

Some time ago I tried to do this, but couldn't get it to go so gave up. I did have ndscam working but got the glitch and couldn't get around it.

There's a new version of Acamd 0.6.0.3 with internal card reader support (ie you dont need NewCS). Be interesting if it makes any difference to those of you with the Infinity readers. I'm running it with the Jaycar reader.

It works very well with DVBViewer, decodes faster than anything I've seen so far.

Currently running it with the new DVBLink (new version DVBSBridge). Channel changes between Freeview and Sky are about the same ie its fast.

Couple of questions on how DVBLink works if you don't mind.

Can it work with 2 or more tuners doing Sky? If so do you need 2 cards and 2 card readers or can it work with one? Is this possible at the moment or still in development?

How many of the allocated "tuners" does it use up in MCE? ie if you had two DVB-S tuners doing Sky does it use up 2 of the allocated MCE -S tuners? Presumably this would mean you can still use up to four DVB-T tuners staight into MCE doing freeview at the same time correct?

Are there any pros or cons using DVBViewer over DVBDream (I'm using ProgDVB still unfortunately)

Thanks for the update. What settings are you using to get the cardreader working through Acamd? I've set the BoxID in the smartcard.ini and disabled the newcamd in cardclient.ini but still no luck. I'm tinkering around with a few settings but it's probably something simple I've overlooked. I've set the com port so nothing that stupid...

It currently supports two tuners. The release will support 4 I believe. I've got it working currently with 2 tuners off 1 reader. It uses as many DVB-S tuner slots as you want, up to a max of 4.

I'm currently running it along with a HVR2200, so in theory I still have 2 x DVB-T tuner slots free and 2 x DVB-S tuner slots free.

Recorded 4 channels at once last nite which was nice...

The beta seems very stable. The only thing is doesn't have is EPG pass through which is coming soon. This will complete the picture so to speak.

Its a bit of a process to set it all up... but once working it seems to be fantastic.

So I had it all working, on my motherboard serial port using the default setting ie nothing changed from the download. I just dropped the files into the DVBViewer plugins folder, turned on serial port 1 and away it went...

Then along came the new Sunix card, which I dropped into the PC, changed the reader over to this to check it was working and... Nothing... Hours later including a rebuild, Sunix in Sunix out still nothing... Tried everything but I couldn't get it to work again... Almost went postal....

Read pages of stuff online, ended up pulling my card out about 1mm, which made NewCS work, so I gave up and got that working instread (which I needed to anyway for multi tuner). I'm still miffed as to why it worked the first time and wouldn't go again...

Anyway got dual tuners working now so even though its still bugging me I'll stick with NewCS for now. No difference in the channel change speed between that and the native reader anyway.

I believe its something to do with the card initialisation, and the way I've built my Jaycar, which is very badly... I need to perform the cardswitch reverse mod (whatever the f*** that is) now anyway, so I'll see of that makes a difference. It certainly did the trick with NewCS.

Once DVBLink is finished you'll be able to do 4 pay channels at once, along with up to 4 Freeview if you really wanted.

They mentioned on the forums that the EIT passthrough is coming. I believe they will add the complete guide info to every channel (Guide a la Carte), which will keep the guide updated without the need to run through every channel.

I've just added the guide back in using the BSETool, which is fine for now...

Hey Russ, just like to publicly thank you for all the work you are putting into this stuff. A great help to the rest of us who are bold enough to follow suit!

Could you please email me your setup now too when you get a chance? I'm slowly getting back in the land of living and will see if I can get my head around this over the next few days. I'll probably hold off until tomorrow anyway just to make sure the leaked Win 7 RC matches the one released to Technet users tomorrow NZ Time.

Rusty I would also be keen to get some setup info for DVBViewer as I have not used that before. I'd also like to echo what Satch has said - I know my mediacenter would be no where as good as it is if it wasn't for you constantly pushing the boundaries and more importantly passing the info on - Cheers

This has blown me away. I now have one sky card and two streams (independent of transponder) coming through win 7100 via 2 virtual dvblink tuners using the same configuration as Rusty (newCS, sunix PCI and jaycar reader). On top of my dual tuner 2200 DVB-T, I'm in multi-tuner heaven. Now, if only they made silent xbox's in the footprint of PS3's, broadcasters actually provided quality viewing, and I had more time to watch TV.
