for $150, i'd consider a few decent models from the likes of edifier, baseus, soundcore, etc. then maybe get one of those "gaming" headphone stands with usb ports to facilitate charging?
>I've not experienced any on my devices. Maybe I'm just undiscerning
I'll second this...
I've a Samsung Q80C (2024) TV, to which I Bluetooth with Sony 1000XM3s (for after-SWMBO's bedtime).
No issues of lag - no tweaking by me - it just works.
Don't do any live TV anymore, but YouTubes & LAN playback all work just fine.
So until you prove your TV's got a problem with BT - don't give up the search.
Inexpensive BT phones that self-charge on a rack is a tiny niche - I don't know of any. I suspect that with headphones now going 15+ hours on internal battery - you may have to accept a couple of USB-C charges per week.
If you like earpods - then you can just drop them back in their case (which stays plugged in) to recharge.
I've just (yesterday) picked up some Sony WF-1000XM5's that do this - but at double your price limit.
I believe you can get similar devices for much less - just with inferior NC - which you probably don't care about..
So ... I tried my BT headset, BT earplugs and BT ear-muffs with the TV at the weekend. They all had no obvious issues with syncing between audio and video. At least no worse than watching via TV speakers or soundbar.

Ended up buying some cheap JBL BT headphones. Working just fine. If there's a sync issue, I'm not noticing it.
