MG1976: - Holding down up/down/left/right, channel change, and volume keys only skips 1 step. You have to "spam" those keys to get anywhere. The original sky remote would step through multiple channels or items in the planner if holding the key.
I'm pretty sure you should be able to adjust the repeat delay for that device??
