Sweet. Now just need to check out the quality on my TV... Even higher bitrate would be great, especially since it's free!

Given that the high quality is 700kbps I think you can work that out. The quality is not too bad, I do feel like the sync is not quite right though. It's watchable.

Well.. just to confirm that from some other sites that had mentioned this: it is a "shortcut" link to TVNZ OnDemand's website... so yeah, it opens in browser.

And it's hard to determine whether the content you're viewing is "Standard Quality" or "High Quality". The toolbar will display "Standard Quality" but is it stating the current content is in SQ? or you have to click it to switch to SQ?

Also, there's no direction on how to use the interface, I use PS3 remote, and pressing direction will "shrink" the interface and it's quite unintuitive to use...

+1 on not noticing much difference
between standard and high quality streams, but it's a start.

No.. I couldn't tell any difference either..

I was trying to work out if showing Standard showing meant it was showing standard or to switch to Standard and if high meant change quality to high or it was high now.

Anyway.. the interface is too laggy
Switching between high and low quality (with no changes) made video freeze up alot of times.
The adverts where anoying and when you clicked on them they didn't display correctly on the PS3
It would ha ve been alot nicer if the tvnzondemand was integrated into Vidzone as it is a much nicer interface

Exact thought that some of us had when discussing it earlier at Twitter...

PS3 Browser (web-based) Flash player isn't what I was hoping for - disappointed - VidZone-like application be better!

My experience so far:

Start a video

Ad plays

Locks up

Restart

Well had a wee play last night with TVNZ on demand and for those of you who like good picture quality don't bother using it!! the image is very poor even set to "high quality" it is extremely compressed and on a big screen looks like crap!! Those of you who want "TV" on your PS3 import PlayTV will be worth every cent. At least then you have HD picture quality and 5.1 on TV3!!
