I haven't used DVBViewer, so can't answer those questions.

Oscam can run natively under Windows, I believe it was CCCam that required Cygwin, so you won't need it.

You can download acamd from anywhere, just google for it and you should find it.

Hi again,

Can you please tell me what type of Sky decoder and smart card you have?

Many thanks,

We have a MySky HDi with a NZ45xxx card.

As I understand it, the NZ45xxx cards work, and the NZ17xxx cards usually don't. You'll definitely get a 45xxx card with a MySky HDi, you'll definitely get a 17xxx card with any standard decoder other than the silver Pace decoder, and with the silver Pace decoder you could get either.

Hi - I don't suppose you have an idiot's guide do you or able to point me in the right direction.

Have tried your downloaded files, but still no luck.

Trying with W7, DVB Viewer or 7MC, Acamd, OSCAM with Omnikey 3121.

Thanks

Yes, I would also appreciate an idiots guide. I'm planning on using Omnikey 3121 with DVBViewer 4.6, but am still waiting for my Omnikey to arrive from the UK.

I know next to nothing about the process, but assume that it would be the same as listed here, except we replace NewCS with OScam

http://www.geekzone.co.nz/forums.asp?forumid=84&topicid=39124

I think one has to download the appropriate Acamd plugin for DVBViewer and deposit it in the appropriate plugins folder.

Good luck. If you have success please let me know how you did it.

Hi Glenn,

I can't get any sky decryption working with DVBViewer + your Oscam Files + Acamd V 0620.

I'm not sure if I have understood the correct installation of Oscam. I think you just create  the folder C:\Oscam and dump the files in there (i.e. nothing to install). Tried installing with Oscam.exe but it opens a window of a log.

Here's my log -- below my written text. Can you please tell if there is anything wrong.

Acamd needs some files to be configured, but I'm not sure of the appropriate configuration. Could you please show me a copy of your Acamd files.

Many thanks,

Tim

Your card is working fine.

You might want to delete your serial number and box ID pretty quickly... IE DO IT NOW, URGENT, PRONTO...

This bit...

2011/05/01 14:42:24 E1FBF0 r [videoguard2-reader] serial: XXXXXX, BoxID:XXXXXX, baseyear: 1992

Or you might find your card gets cancelled...

I'd say you just need to get ACamd talking to Oscam and you'll be away laughing...

Thanks for confirming that OScam is working fine, and thanks to the moderator that swiftly removed my serial number. Phew!

I think the problem is Acamd. I see there are a bunch of files (  ACamd_PMT.txt, cardclient.conf,  smartcard.conf ) which require some configuration (removal of # or ; from the appropriate lines of code). This is where I am lost. Would be great to have a look at somebody elses files so I know what to do.

Many thanks,

Tim

I have finally had success with DVBViewer 4.8.

For other newbies out there, here is what I did.

Put Oscam files in folder called Oscam on C drive.

Create shortcut of Oscam.exe and put in windows startup folder (Oscam then starts every time you reboot)

Download Acamd

http://www.wac-sat.com/2011/02/acamd-v-0620.html

Place Acamd files in DVBViewer Plugins  folder.

Configure  file cardclient.conf

All lines of code that are not being used have a # at the beginning, so you just need the following:

newcamd:localhost:15000:1/096A/ffff:yourusername:yourpassword:0102030405060708091011121314

This is the only line in the file that does not have # at the beginning.

To view Oscam through a web browser, type http://IPaddressofyourPC:16000

Your Acamd user name needs to be the same as one of the Oscam users listed. Click the pencil (edit user) to see the users password or change it to a password of your choice. Make sure both username and password are correctly configured in cardclient.conf (above).

Dvbviewer isn't quite as stable as before, but at least I can now record Sky without a MySky.

Many thanks to the people who posted here who have provided all the know how.
