Nope, still not working. I had (foolishly) assumed when they said they weren't sure how long it would take to fix that it would be a matter of a few days -- some sort of update would be nice but I don't know if I can stand the pain of talking to support again.

There was a new problem with series link that started on Tuesday 11th and should have been fixed by yesterday (Thursday 20th). The problem (bad data from the satellite) caused the series link process in the box to die, but rebooting the box wouldn't help (unlike other problems) because the bad data would just kill the process again. Now that the data's been fixed you should reboot your MySKY (<back> and <select> together) to make sure that the process is up and running.

There is hoped to be a software download to customers in August that will address (most of) the underlying series link problem, i.e. that the process dies and the box must be rebooted.

Cheers,
M

Tried it, and 8 series link bookings showed up when I rebooted. Hopefully it will work now.

How will everyone else know they need to reboot now?

Hi John,

Sorry, I wrote too soon - this problem may not be as fixed as I was told it was. They found the source condition but it came back on Friday. I'm hoping that they will complete the fix over the weekend. Your question is good - with the MySKY SKY can now send a remote reboot command and are thinking of doing that next week about the time of the headend change (Monday night) to make sure everyone's PVR has its series link process running.

Has anyone else got duplicated bookings now? I rebooted last night about midnight, and some series link bookings came back that had been missing. But another reboot happened later on (I can tell cuz the volume goes down to two thirds and I have to put it back up again), and now most series links on Prime are duplicated - 3 of them are duplicated. I thought I would leave them for a while and see if they go away on their own. If they don't I'll reboot again and see if that clears it.

BTW, I didn't notice any interruption between 2 and 3 am, but I wasn't watching any of the affected channels. A couple programs recorded during that time recorded ok, and playback was unaffected.

I think that the letter SKY Customer Services sent out was incorrect about the effect of the change on series link: it said that series links would be lost and would have to be 'rebooked'. In reality we've ended up with duplicate entries in the planner for series link bookings on the channels which SKY moved overnight. I had a booking for Dr Who (series id 12345 e.g.) on Prime on Thursday night at 7:30. On Monday night Prime moved to a different stream and service ID, but (presumably) kept the same series id 12345, so the PVR has treated it as a new instance of the same series on a different channel.

I am expecting one recording to fail and the other (hopefully) to succeed. If I were really paranoid I would delete both and rebook.

SKY did send a reboot request to all PVRs on Monday night (or early Tuesday morning). With the headend problem with series link data over the past two weeks (fixed over the weekend) possibly killing the series link processes in PVRs it made sense to reboot everyone's decoder (as you suggested) to get everyone running cleanly.
