networkn: scott: I am really sorry to hear that. What I can categorically tell you with a LOT of experience with Large TV's in my living rooms, is that 1-2 weeks after it's been installed, you won't notice it (My wife was concerned as well) unless you get visitors around.
I got around the last one, by putting a projector in and a 106" motorized screen. Suits everyone since it looks awesome, and takes up NO floor space (I have my other stuff in a rack in the corner)
networkn: scott: Have it delivered while she is at work :) When she gets home and exclaims OMG look how big it is! It completely dominates the room, just smile and say.."Don't tell me honey, tell your friends" :)
Or, alternatively, pretend like she must have bumped her head and that it's been there for MONTHS :)
Or, have it delivered while she is at work, and when she throws a fit, agree and tell her they can come and collect it again a week from the next working day, by then she will be used to it..
I Love my wife, I didn't need to employ these tactics at all :)
Dunnersfella: http://www.noelleeming.co.nz/shop/tvs-dvds/televisions/plasma-televisions/panasonic-th-p55st30z-55-f...
Noel Leeming's have it for $2399, so $799 more, so not quite $650 I guess.
Having said that, I'm sure every other retailer has just checked their site and changed their prices to be $2 less... so if you've got the budget, a 55" ST30 is pretty good choice.
Dunnersfella: It's 20% off their regular RRP...
So anything on their list will be 20% off, I've just had a look through and everything seems to be pretty much spot on.
Do you have any models in particular? The Sony.co.nz website is showing the likes of the 55EX720 to be $4099 RRP, whereas Noel Leeming have it listed at over 20% off... Of course, who knows what NL's price has been recently??
