Curious if anyone has tried these Onkyos?

Can get them for NZ$100 - I havent had a decent set of headphones in years - thought these would be a good start but haven't found any useful/credible comparisons.
Unable to test before purchase as no-one local sells them (Timaru).

Anyone....?

From what I've heard they are typical of Onkyo product - average reliability but very good sonic performance for the price. If I needed something on a budget of $100 then I would happily buy them, although I would much prefer the newer model with the in-line remote and microphone for iPhone.

Are you thinking of buying these in Avalon Audio's 50% off sale on headphones? I know they're probaby out of your budget but for anyone else who may be interested the KEF M500 would be an absolute steal for $250.

Thought I would let you all know that tickets to the headphones meet are now available. Hit the link here to grab your tickets http://www.trademe.co.nz/Browse/Listing.aspx?id=717640361

I can now confirm the date and venue - Saturday the 24th of May at the Fickling Convention Centre (Hillsborough Room) in Three Kings in Auckland (see in Google Maps).

This is one not to be missed if you have even a casual interest in headphone audio, the list of top of the line gear that will be present for your auditioning pleasure is, quite frankly, unbelievable - an unparalleled opportunity here in NZ.

Tempting... $200 for flights, $100 for rental car, $150 if I want to stay overnight... $450 total. Will give it some thought. If I was in Auckland it'd be a no-brainer.

Can probably sort you somewhere to stay, certainly could do pick up and drop off for you to reduce the cost of that rental car...

Thanks, I appreciate that offer. I'll talk to my wife tonight, and ponder if it's worth that much money to listen to headphones. It's more a previous interest I still dabble in than a current one tbh.

I have my barely used HE-400 HiFiMan Headphones with original box and all original stuff for sale. Bought as a comparison to my HD650's I decided to sell them as they are fairly similar and I have upgraded to the Beyerdynamics T1 recently. $400 ONO

Interesting - a friend wants some, so does my wife. Do they sit on your ear or go around your ear to rest on your head?

Amazon - one review only.  A search of head-fi brings up very little. Even the AT website has very little. Very few reviews online. Makes me a bit suspicious.

They are OEM Blackbox. They go over ear. I have owned them they are like the M10's and I can tell you they are really very good and the customer service is second to none (they replaced a pair where the plastics wore out after 5 years with a brand new pair, 4 years outside of warranty.

Very Comfortable. I would be extremely surprised if at that price (I paid $399 and don't regret it) you could have a problem.

Cool, so they're pretty much the same as these? Customer service will be different if it's through AT rather than BlackBox/Phitek.

That is my understanding. They look very similar as well.

Have just ordered myself the Sennheiser HD700s from the states. Found a good deal on Amazon for a open box return pair, NZ$696 which is half what they go for here.

Currently own the HD650s so will be interesting to see what the improvement is, expecting a slightly wider sound stage and more clarity in the highs and mids with maybe a little less bass.

What are peoples thoughts on what an immaculate pair of HD650s is worth second hand?
