For the first time ever my Mediaportal TV Server rebooted this morning.  What I can only put it down to was that I was recording the All Whites game and had forgotten that I had the EPG Grabber scheduled for 2:00am as well.

Will it ever be possible to only grab on available cards (I have 2 in the machine)?

I saw the new version at half time in the game and tried but both my tuners were busy (Sat on SBS and DTT on TVNZ) no reboot, just errored out saying no cards available.

I guess setting it up to run use card 2 will result in more frequent success but how often do you really record something at 2 am?

It should pick up the first available tuner - do you use a Tuner parameter?

Nope ... that line is commented out in the MHeg.ini I use.

At the moment I cant find anything in the logs for Mediaportal or 4therecord to show why it suddenly stopped and rebooted at 2:00am.

Windows System Event Log only shows:
The computer has rebooted from a bugcheck.  The bugcheck was: 0x10000050 (0xffffff74, 0x00000000, 0xf7010c10, 0x00000000).

andemat: Is it possible to implement diseqc support? Or any tips on how to control a diseqc swith before running epg collector on windows?

It may be possible, I'll take a look. We use some Microsoft software (DirectShow) to access the tuner so that would need to implement it and I don' remember seeing anthing about it.

PM me one of your Collector logs. Maybe I can spot the reason it's not using the other tuner.

Unfortunately I only have a single tuner. My partner giggles could test multiple tuners but he's awol at the moment.

I'll see if one of the guys I've been testing OpenTV with in Oz can try it.

....back online. Feel free to PM me the log too. I have dual DVB-T running MP1.3RC so should be able to reproduce.

In my testing EPG collector did occasionally choose the Nova T500 over The HVR2200, with no problems with GBpvr 1.3.7 doing two simultaneous recordings at the same time on different tuners. That worked perfectly for multiple EPG runs on the two available tuners out of four. I saw no difference between either card for EPG collection.
It did seam to favour the HVR2200 more than the T500, but so do I.

How long does the failed to acquire signal go for?
Seems to have been looping for a good 20 loops so far...

Killing the process doesn't free the card correctly which means restart :(

I just tried it and that's a fault.

It should try 3 times.

We are going to do a minor upgrade next week that adds station logos to the xmltv file among other things.

Fix will be in then.

No probs, read the readme (funny that) and noticed Q will kill it not Ctrl-C.
So that works fine.
