Ok.

After trying:

Restarts
deleting the WMC files in eHome
setting up a different user
system restore back to yesterday

No Luck

So I deleted the DisableInband registry setting and restarted.

and Mr Tuner is back. So that setting is upsetting something.

Oh and, of course,  the programming guide is full of dot's again :-(

I've changed my mind about the registry key (yet again!!).

It should be DisableInbandSchedule. If you have DisableInband it disables channel scanning as well so it may well have contributed to your tuner problem.

For the new registry settings to come into effect you need to reboot the PC. That was my mistake when I thought DisableInbandSchedule wasn't working.

You have to reboot because the process that uses the registry keys (mcGlidHost.exe) reads them on loading and is only loaded once by WMC. It then stays resident no matter how many times you load/unload WMC.

Sorry, i'm finding that setting seems to kill my tuner too.

And nothing but dots in the prime guide while others seem to have come back.

I don't see how that can be causing your tuner problem. It's not doing it for anybody else.

Delete the registry entry and see if that fixes it.

Yeah that's what I did, deleting it brought the tuner back.

I might try adding it again to see if I messed it up. should it be a 64bit entry? (win7homePrem64)
