Now I want one, if anyone finds these in stock and a good price (sure that will be a few weeks at least), please let us know.

also if anyone gets one, and wishes to install kodi on linux on this, can you try netflixmbc and see how that works?

I have to confess I really want one as well - I sure the other half wouldnt mind....

I am a bit puzzled though - if it comes with windows already - and kodi will obviously run on windows - why would you put linux on it?
Also - As netflix works in a browser anyway - why have that bundled into kodi?
Those plugins/bundles for kodi are notorious for working ok until something changes - then there is no-one to maintain them and they break. (In fact when I google netflixbmc and followed the first link I found there were people complaining the plugin cant be downloaded anymore)

One of the big benefits of windows (or I suppose straight linux) - as I see it - is that you dont have a bunch of flaky apps for each and every service you want to use. Just open a browser and go there.

What cool things are you doing with linux?

its more you can make it a pure HTPC easier, without windows popping up nagging you at times for updates, and windows stealing focus.   netflix runs on chrome for linux now, so you can watch it that way.  but its easier to use a remote and have large interface for it.

yes there is the problem of the scripts stop working from time to time.  i havent tried netflixbmc, netflix just stopped working on one of my samsung tvs again, so looking for possible alternative.

Shame the boxes are only 10/100 Ethernet, and USB 2.0, but I guess that keeps the cost low.

Well finally the shipping info I was sent was visible at the tracking system, but as best I can tell still hasn't left. Not feeling confident I will see it before March.

Same here. 'Pre-adviced' with NL Post since 14th. No indication they have either received it yet from Gearbest nor sent it on to me.

Yeah they stated to change order to silver, so they could get it out. For delivery before Chinese new year. Obviously that didn't work. Lol

Nice - Give us all the details - really interested in these boxes.
Did you get an NZ power plug? If not - make sure you have an adapter ready for the weekend!

Found an adapter and a HDMI to DVI Converter at the offic and it's UP! Booted in a few seconds, haven't timed it but perhaps 10. Updating to 8.1 now. Works, has Windows, which is activated. Impressed so far.

Had a 2 Straight Pin adapter but it's range is 100-240v. It's a pretty nasty adapter the fit to both my converters wasn't nice like it is on other stuff I plug into it, but I got it working in the end.

Looking at one from Geekbuying, is in stock and they have black. Comes with adapter at no extra cost, and free shipping.

Will wait a few days and see reviews here.
