And the Solid Snake-Oil Drive: https://www.tomshardware.com/news/nvme-ssd-for-audiophiles
You just need to know how to read the text, e.g:
The product uses imported original electronic components
which translates to:
We pulled them off old TV's sent here for ecycling
So it filters out noise with all those caps then reintroduces new noise with the LEDs and assoiated driver circuits? Watch your PSU blow up with the inrush current.
neb: That company has lots of interesting products, including this Russian roulette whatsit, 240v power into a metal case, lots of exposed metal parts on the cables, and a few probably-OK components (e.g. X2 caps, assuming they're not fake) mixed in with God-knows-what parts (the heatsinked TO-220s). Parts of it could be an LC filter, but like the previous product I suspect a lot of it is just for show.
It‘s basically an overpriced surge/overvoltage protection circuit. The TO-s are DIACs to limit the spike voltage, VDRs, gas surge arrestor and LC-Filter. EPCOS are btw former Siemens components. Technically it doesn’t harm nor it’s playing russian roulette and in fact it needs to be housed in a metal cage to fulfill it‘s duty. Therefore it has N, L and PE applied. We can discuss the price but technically it‘s totally ok. ;-)

I'm disappointed that no-one is talking about the terrible effects that the move to aluminium power lines is having on audio quality around the nation.
they are using birds sitting on the power lines as filters .
"Birds arnt real " . (google it)
Another thing... "Gold plated optical cables"
It's optical. It could be plastic and certainly gold plate is not strong enough to protect it anyway.

Why? Gold is OPTIC jewellery in this case - you don't (hopefully) hang a copper cable around your wife's neck as a necklace or propose to her with a metal washer with the correct ring size? In any case, I would fit into a matchbox afterwards. ;-)

Love his methodology to testing. Also love some of the comments both genuine and tongue-in-cheek (gold-plated optical cables anyone!)

But he totally misunderstands how error correction coding works..... He says some people believe CDs sound worse if the decoder has to use the error correction due to a wobbly disc etc,
BZZZT, the error correction coding (Cross interleaved Reed Solomon) is how all the data is encoded on the disc, its a series of mathematical matrices, the decoder doesn't go off and check the error correction if is finds an error, the error correcting is integral to the data and has to be read even if the disc is perfect...
[ Well that's how I remembered it when I did stage 3 combinatorics)
Although than that grumble it was a pretty good take down, Although he could have just stuck the CDs into a computer drive and copied the files to compare, rather than having to use a digital recorder via a TOS optical link

I knew what that video was before I even clicked it 😁
Not the same switch, but likely the same scam.

I hate this I hate this I hate this I hate this I hate this.
It's literal not only snake oil but a complete scam. My friends who are into the hobby are just laughing and scoffing at this things existence.
Ramblings from a mysterious lady who's into tech. Warning I may often create zingers.
I have seen one before that was just a normal switch but they had removed those evil switching regulators from it and put a wasteful linear one in to drive it, and supplied it with a boat anchor adapter connected thru a replaced DC input socket with some big esoteric latching connector for show. Great way to p..s away money both buying it and keeping it running on an ongoing basis.
