Oblivian: Very unlikely, as it can raise audio delays with the processing settings. Especially when using any form potential dual port use of analoge+digital decoding like a 3.5.jack.

Is why earlier I warned getting multiple outputs can be difficult these days without tapping an analogue output. As often it disables the others and focuses on the format chosen.

Likewise hooking BT to samsungs, turns off the normal speakers.

Looking at the manual, they're an andoidOS with very basic output control. Ringing true with the likes of a phone that generally only allows external, internal,or bt. But not multiple.

I can't speak to that, I only know from my own experience that it's not an issue for me. It is the exact set-up I use. I do have a Sonia Bravia which is pre-Android. I would imagine if it causes problems, it wouldn't be available in settings.

The model (TCL55C2US ) has been mentioned in the previous posts.

And no, it's not available according to the manuals

https://www.tcl.com/au/en/support-centre/downloads/C2.html

Even the help guide says to remove them if there is no sound for diagnosis.

There is no picture or sound.
•    Make sure the power cord is properly inserted in the power outlet.
•    Make sure the source type is set correctly.
•    Make sure the antenna is properly connected.
•    Make sure the volume is not set to minimum or the sound is not set to mute.
•    Make sure the headphones are not connected

Here's a diagram that might be a workable arrangement.

The stuff in red shows a TOSLINK cable extension that could supply a separate device to power Viewer A's headphones. Like a mains-powered DAC with a headphone port and volume control. Or perhaps a Bluetooth transmitter. If the latter, it would be less than a meter away from Viewer A, would that be close enough to prevent Bluetooth lag?

Bluetooth lag is not a function of distance, its the compression, buffering, error correction and allowing for the retransmission of failed frames(packets? No idea what they're calling them) that makes it have lag. Specific codecs are made to be more tolerant of errors so less correction needs to be applied to it - apt-x low latency is the common one. Without it you can see up to 3-400ms of latency on some of the crappier Bluetooth implementations and over 100 is still normal. This is at the point where you are seeing lipsync issues, let alone the horridness that even 20-30ms can give you when you are hearing the headphones as well as the audio from TV speakers which comes in before the headphones do.

The latency can change as it is used, but it only seems to get worse as it has errors and needs to retransmit, I have not had bluetooth get better with time even when moving closer to the source.

Stick with wired headphones into a DAC with no fancy processing that may add delays and you should be fine.

Thanks, Rich. I agree, DAC is the simpler option. Bluetooth would also have required fairly expensive, chargeable headphones, which would have been issue for the others in the family. Given that the TOSLINK source will be easily set up, I just need to find a DAC that isn't battery powered and preferably, has tone as well as volume control.
