No problems. I too hit a brick wall. I at least managed to get it down to one remote when using the Apple TV device.

 

  • Everything controlled using Apple TV remote

     

    • remote controls volume
    • remote power on / off the TV y starting up / sleeping the Apple TV box
  • Applt TV > HDMI 1
  • TV optical audio out to sound bar

     

    • Sound bar is constantly on
    • Sound bar isbasically only used for TV

On the odd occasion, the Apple TV box doesn't power on the TV, so we open the drawer for the TV remote and use that to power on the TV

 

On the odd occasion, like family gatherings, I open the drawer for the soundbar remote and link a phone to background music. The younguns' get too distracted if the TV is on.
