Why is the XML EPG data not available anymore?
sbiddle: EPG Collector is dead simple to run. I'd always used the XML files myself but I had EPG Collector up and running in under 10 minutes yesterday when I finally had to make the move.

jzed: A great shame this program no longer works. It was excellent work and a very tidy solution.
I have got EPG Collector working - at least it creates the xmltv.xml file. But after hours of trying, I can't work out how to get the EPG data into Mediaportal. Is another piece of software required like those mentioned on the EPG Grabber help page?
Freeviewtoxmltv created a tvguide.xml file which read into Mediaportal nicely. I have renamed the xmtltv file created by EPG Collector to tvguide and tried importing. It recognises the channels, but none of the programmes. This is somewhat strange, as looking at the xml file content, there doesn't seem to be much difference between the output of the two programs.
I hope I am not asking something obvious here, but I'm clearly missing something. Any help would be appreciated.

On MP TV Server, enable the XmlTv plugin, and point the folder to where the xml file is stored, as long as you have it pointed to the right directory, it should just import whenever you run EPG Collector.
jzed: Thanks for the replies.
I was a bit unclear in my previous post. As for EzyE, xmltv in Media portal recognises the channels and the mapping seems fine. But no programs imported. The file being read has content, and doesn't seem that different to the xml file generated by Freeviewtoxmltv.
I took the advice to look at the EPG Collector forums. It seems it could be a Mediaportal issue according to a few threads. Some time in the next day, I will muck around with the xml file to see if I can see what the issue is.
