How does this from Avalon Audio sound to you guys?

Onkyo TX-SR309 - $300
Onkyo 5.1 Speaker Set: 2xSKF-4800, SKC-4800, 2xSKR-4800, SKW-770 - $800

I know it's not a high end set up but I think it should suit us fine and the olds seemed okay with it too

I recently bought an Onkyo TX-NR609 which I'm very pleased with for $899 (it went on sale a few weeks after, typical...) and I've just paired it with a KEF KHT2005.3 5.1 set which is currently on special at JB Hifi for $992 which is very good considering what the MSRP is in the States.

Obviously this is getting close to the $2k mark, but it's pretty reasonable gear for a good price. (Note, "reasonable" is obviously subjective - it's a damn sight better than my old PYE Prolabs!)

That said, that Avalon deal looks very good!
